Got into a disagreement with an associate of mine so I’d like to know where you guys are at on this . I say under no circumstance do we rush the court if we were to beat UNR tonight , Tarkanian would be rolling in his grave. For decades we’ve been the superior program , but now we’re considering to rush the court against our in state rival because they’ve been good the past 2 years? It would be a slap in the face to our programs deep tradition if we did this tonight , in my opinion.

The thing is, if they do, it’ll be pathetic because the situation doesn’t call for it. But more pathetic with the numbers. It would look like a huddle.
I agree with your pal, we should absolutely rush the court. Stop living in the past old timer, this isn’t the 80s anymore... They’re balling rn and this is a rivalry game where everyone is gonna be pregaming and lit for the game. There’s no other option than to rush the court if we win. But if you think you can stop me with your old brittle knees, then please be my guest.

I wouldn’t stop you, students should do whatever they want. So should the grown ups if they feel like rushing. UNM did. There’s no harm in it. I think rushing vs Reno isn’t worth it myself, but have at it.
Under no circumstances will I be rushing the court for a win over Reno, but you know the students will if we win.
I’m trying to think of times I rushed.... last 3 games of WAC tourney ‘98 I did and it was a blast. Such an underdog in all those games and the city was starting to swell with that run.
I did not when we beat BYU in 2000 for the championship. But that game was so anticlimactic too - we were up something like 26-2 to start the game.

I did (sorta) when UNC was undefeated and #1, certainly not to the level of Crying Jimmy @umeh43 though.
I think that’s it. There was never any reason to contemplate rushing under Tark, even when Temple was #1 and undefeated. It was expected.
I do think ESPN Championship court rushes are cool and definitely called for. Those are for bids, that type of scene is a big part of the face of March Madness to me. Regular season vs UNR just doesn’t do it for me personally.
