Maybe.Has anyone thought that he may actually be hurt and there is no conspiracy? Kruger expects him back before season ends.
SDSU wouldn’t be able to afford his NIL and SDSU likes to defend, he doesn’t.If he goes to SDSU…….

DJ the best here in years? BHam, Harkless, KGilbert, K Hall all better.Funny how some here throw DJ under the bus like he is what the major problem is?
I think I use to argue with those same folks on here about keeping Arroyo another year on the football board and knowing that Kevin was not going to be the coach we need here after year 2.
Kevin is the absolute biggest problem UNLV basketball has right now, not DJ who is one of the top players we have had here in years, hands down!
Gilbert and Hall were not better than DJ, while they were here.DJ the best here in years? BHam, Harkless, KGilbert, K Hall all better.
Can you read?DJ the best here in years? BHam, Harkless, KGilbert, K Hall all better.
There's nothing worth playing for anyways. Even if it was borderline tear and able to heal with a few weeks rest, why chance it.Dj is out for the year.
Did DJ offer to take less in order to secure Jefferson? From what i understand DJ is not very happy. Dont know the details ,but i heard his boy got Joshua Jefferson got HIGH 6 digits to go to Iowa St and we came nowhere close to it. Like not even close to 7% of what they paid.
So it's not the losing that is making DJ unhappy, yet instead he is unhappy that his friend at a different program gets more NIL than him? DJ sure sounds like a wonderful teammate then lolFrom what i understand DJ is not very happy. He has an arthritic wallet...those are painful.Poor guy looked like he couldn’t handle the pain he was in. Same with Whaley.
I don't think there is any such thing as wonderful teammate any more. Everyone out to get theirs. So it's not the losing that is making DJ unhappy, yet instead he is unhappy that his friend at a different program gets more NIL than him? DJ sure sounds like a wonderful teammate then lol
Acknowledging the elephant in the room.. That's a lot of weight to place on a 17 yr old's shoulders(no pun intended) but also I recall he was supposedly the reasons the Boone's and Hill signed at UNLV and was supposed to be the guy that attracted all the Vegas talent to back to UNLV. We lost out on the big Vegas recruits, we lost out on the big Vegas transfers.. Is that on DJ? I don't think so specifically but also I think it contributes to where he ends up as within the "Rebel" history.DJ came to UNLV to be the savior and ended up being just another guy in program history. There was some discussion that he would be one and done, we’d be lucky to have him for year 2.
Flash forward to now and he’s regressed and looking like a 4 year guy as a solid PG. it’s obvious he will cash in (he has to) at another school. If he were a sure fire nba prospect, I don’t think we’d be having this discussion.
Who in tf thought he was one and done? I thought at best, he would be fringe and that usually is really healthy for a college program because you should get at least 3 out of them.DJ came to UNLV to be the savior and ended up being just another guy in program history. Testing NBA waters?? Not even close to playing at that level. Might be able to make a living overseas. He will get dominated in the NBA.Who in tf thought he was one and done? I think he’s a good PG, I think he’s the best player on our team, but nowhere close to NBA right now.
and, tbh, it seems like he’s tapered off. I won’t say regressed. His clutch time performance was hit and miss last year, more miss this year.
That said, he will test the NBA waters, then when that doesn’t go as he hopes, he will go to the highest bidder, which won’t be UNLV.
A quality PG (he is that) that’s a JR within two years left will draw a lot of attention.
If he were on a team with a reliable wing (shooter that could do more than just shoot) and a solid post big man … to the point where he’s third or fourth scoring option … you have a pretty good team. But we put everything on his shoulders. That’s shortsighted, it was a huge error in the construction of the roster, imo.
Yeah, but why not take the feedback?Testing NBA waters?? Not even close to playing at that level. Might be able to make a living overseas. He will get dominated in the NBA.
