I don’t think it will pan out or really develop, don’t think the pres would go for it. But I heard Tom Jurich’s name was pitched as AD.
Because of the crap at Louisville (he was cleared), he’s a “risk” with a greatly reduced price tag.
Not that I’m against it, but I would have been more interested years ago, say pre Tina or even pre-DRF … but with NLI, I do think it changes the equation. He’s an AD that gives some “freedom” and wiggle room to get things done in the name of winning. I’m all for that. But I think NLI normalizes “cheating” or at least rewards creativity, loopholes and resources to the point where the rich get richer. A school that gets away with “cheating” still spends less than what kids can get by not “cheating”.
But the guy has experience at a high level; with building … can get things done.
