With Desert Reign, I know a lot of you attend.
We intend on broadcasting the games. A lot of variables go into that - our availability, the connection speed, the success of the setup, and most importantly, whether Rebels play. If they shut it down, so do we.
But let's say all goes well - does it make a difference to the viewers whether it is live or delayed? If it's live, we are at the mercy of the connection speed. So it may be choppy or unclear at times. It may be perfect. But there will always very infrequent ad breaks, sometimes at inopportune times, that we have no control over. And those live broadcasts are archived.
If it's delayed, we'd upload a crisper, upchoppy file later that night or the next day and you could watch it later. More backend work for me because of the rendering of video.
Does it matter to the end viewer whether it's live or delayed?
