Interesting list. You guys have kind of sucked. Did not know that you only have played FB since 1978.
Also a bit surprised at the low # for my Cougs. And Oregon State for that matter, but they were woeful for many years way back when. I remember the Civil War game against Oregon (when they sucked too) which ended in a 0-0 tie.
One question - does D-1 wins include wins over FCS (aka D1-AA) teams? I tried to find the SportsWest article on this but failed.

That said, I had never heard of this site. Lots of great articles. I bookmarked it and am going to delve in for a while before bedtime. Thanks.

They are on Twitter and have put out several "number of wins since (insert year)" lists. We have been dead last on every single one. We haven't "kind of sucked." We've been the epitome of absolute dog (beep).

172 wins / 44 years = 3.9 wins per season. This means that we have eclipsed the 5- and 6-win marks a couple of times but have sat through horrendous 2-win seasons more than any of us would like to admit.

Yeah, we know bad. My son said to me last year that we have to go to the bowl game because who knows when we might see another one come our way. Sad but true.

If you can put money on it, would you say that 2024 team is another bowl team?

As a Rebel fan for over 50 years it's hard to be optimistic. That being said I like our chances. The QB position worries me just a bit because I don't know what we are looking at for a starter. The defensive recruiting has been off our normal charts. The defense has me encouraged. We are now going into that second year where we've recruited to our system so we have more pieces suited to our play style. So, yes I can see us in another bowl this year.

Kind of sucked is being kind.

Do you remember the 1991 game WSU vs UNLV in LV. Drew Bledsoe at QB hammered UNLV but what I remember best was Jason Hanson kicking a 62 yard FG. WSU/Mike Price took a delay of game to move the kick back to 62 yards which was the longest FG without a tee.

I'm sorry but you remember what a kicker did?

You don’t remember those boomers by Nick?

What about Randall C?

I had a Ray Guy poster on my wall as a young kid.

You have to give some credit to that half footed kicker for showing courage with such a handicap (Dempsey? Memory, faded).

And you always discount kickers as not being real players, not being athletes. Garo would like a word with you.

Haha, I just remember the record set, well and Hanson went on to what a 40 year NFL career?

A buddy of mine that I grew up with since we were little, and played football together since we were 9, played DE in that game for WSU. Vince Saldivar. Unfortunately he died way too young. His family donated his brain to BU and their CTE Center. Here is an article about Vince and some other WSU players. I remember going down onto the field after that game and chatting with him. It was the last times we ever talked. My parents still see his parents, it just sucks that a game we grew up playing as kids, literally as 9 year olds on the Orange Vikings may have cost him his life.

"It isn’t just Grayson. Three other former Cougs in their 40s and early 50s – Dorian Boose, Vince Saldivar and Gary Holmes – have died in the past five years, all at least suspected to have suffered from traumatic brain injuries that contributed to behaviors or disorders that led to their deaths."

Shut up. We have Randall Cunningham. You have Ryan Leaf.

you have Michael Crabtree. We have Keenan McCardell.

Advantage: UNLV.

You guys have been enjoying the fruits of being a Pac 12 bottom feeder for years.

We’ve been a bottom feeder for over 40 years.

We have (had) Keith Jackson, Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury) and Laurence Peter (the Peter Principle). You have, well, you. Advantage WSU. : ):)

I remember meeting him with you after that game. Didn't know that. Wow.

What ever happened to your boy Soares who played for LSU whose father tried to convince us to help him rob slot machines?

We also have Greg Anthony, Jimmy Kimmel, Kenny Mayne, Gina Carano, Guy Fieri and Tammy Lahren. Her picture alone gives UNLV the advantage ;) Now the big question is which Keith Jackson. The old Eagles TE or the "whoa nellie" Keith Jackson. If the latter then advantage WSU.

Do you mean Tammy Lauren or Tomi Lahren? Both are smoking hot. Probably Lahren. I see she has a dog that apparently hasn't been shot in the head with a shotgun yet, so she didn't learn much by interning for Kristi Noem.

To be fair he was doing the robbing he wanted to pay us to be the look out. I did a lot of dumb things in college but going to jail for being an accomplice to a casino robbery wasn’t something I wanted to do. Fred who played at LSU lives by me I talked to him about 15 years ago and decided I didn’t need to talk to him again. Here is the book his dad John wrote about being a casino cheater.
