I expect to see a lot more of this happen in the next few years. DIII does not provide athletic scholarships. Now an athlete can get NIL, which the courts have said is their right, but they will need to pay their own way through college. This will be a loss of several hundred or more scholarships for athletes just from one school saying NO MORE!
If we kept Kevin much longer, who knows… lolI hope this fate never befalls UNLV

Coaches still find ways to get athletes scholarships at DIII.I expect to see a lot more of this happen in the next few years. DIII does not provide athletic scholarships. Very limited abilities for financial aid type scholarships, and they do not get a free pass on grades, and they do not get any of the other extras like room, board, food, etc....Coaches still find ways to get athletes scholarships at DIII.
That's true on the extras and definitely true on grades. My son plays baseball and has a few offers from schools where he is getting educational scholarships that he and his 2.9 GPA wouldn't normally qualify for. But they definitely focus on the grades a few schools won't offer him for that reason. Depends on the coach it appears.Very limited abilities for financial aid type scholarships, and they do not get a free pass on grades, and they do not get any of the other extras like room, board, food, etc....
