Often there are posts that talk about our football culture or lack thereof. I completely get that our past coaches have been unsuccessful in building a winning culture, but it brings up a question. What coach, Nationally, has brought a 30+ year back from the dead and instilled a winning culture? There are coaches that have brought losing programs back from their misery, but only for a short time. They haven't instilled a culture that could outlive their tenure.

Has there ever been a coach that actually changed the culture of a losing football program?

TCU was pretty bad for the 30-40 years prior to Gary Patterson stepping on campus as DC/HC. It’s only been 1 year without him so who knows if it’ll last but TCU is doing alright at the moment.

If Gary wants to coach again he’ll probably have a ton of jobs to pick from but UNLV should throw everything they have at him if we move on from CMA in the next year or so.

This is a good one. I might have some hope. The problem is I don't think Arroyo is the next Gary Patterson.

Coach Patterson started following me on Twitter last night. I’d be cool with Arroyo staying or eventually bringing in Patterson.

I was thinking more like what Bill Snyder did at K State!

With all due respects to the Krugers but we would have been ranked with sold out tickets right now if they hired Rick Pitino during the Menzies hiring. But we suck so here we are. UNLV vs Island Pacific. Instant culture change.
