I was hoping it would be a former Rebel or George Tark that would be running the program, but it’s nobody local.
I think a JC in our backyard could be huge, especially with prep schools slowing down. It seems cyclical. If prep school is strong, JC’s are weaker. Prep schools slow down, JC’s pick up.
George Tarkanian ran it last time, but I think they went two seasons top, which sucked because it was a fun product and I know UNLV would have reaped rewards - this all occurred during Spoon’s years. CCSN fielded a really fun team back then, they challenged Dixie, who was a SWAC power along with CSI. It was a good league for hoops.
Hopefully UNLV gets involved. Obviously we are doing ok with contact in the valley with HS kids. Would like to see it develop with more experienced kids. Put them in your backyard, let them see your games (probably works against us at this point, but ideally, you know what I’m saying).
