...and Coleman being the surprise of the conference along with Hamilton exploding we might not see a lot of Jonah going forward. Especially if he misses a couple early, like he's been doing. As stated by many his D is pure shit, and while I like the kid and his effort, this is what I can see happening. He only played 4 minutes yesterday but gave up about 8 points.
I'm still not sold on Turnover Tillman. He and Jay Green played 13 minutes and Green got more boards and plays 10x's harder while also not forcing it.
I'm hoping Diong isn't regressing (scoring in double figures 1 out of last 6 games), but he's not been as effective lately and I have no idea why he's 23 feet from the bucket (aside from setting a screen), much less shooting 3's. He's made ONE more than Joe this season. I don't mind him getting called for fouls trying to block shots, but he's got to quit reaching and committing dumb fouls since we have no depth up front.
Imagine if Bryce can continue to evolve and learn to go right and get better defensively. 64% from the line needs improvement as well. He's scored (while not starting before SDSU) in double figures in 9 straight games including averaging 30 over the last 3 vs good competition. I'm sure all of us predicted him shooting a higher 3 pt % than Jonah before the season started! I'm excited as heck to think about him driving the ball next season with better shooters around him...less doubling and more space. 1 more game before he's our leading scorer.
What happened to Hardy yesterday I have no idea. 37 minutes and 1 basket and 3 TOs. Hoping it was just a bad game.
Thru the first chunk of the season I was giving Otz a D-, but since his benching of starters and proving to the team he will not put up with any BS or lazy play I think he deserves a B- since. I would like more guys shooting when open, taking the very first good look (unless it's Diong for 3) and more post touches. The team effort has been great (we really shouldn't be this good on the boards), with the D being about as good as it can be considering the roster.
