Competing for top locals at a HIGH level

You say "in the top 6." Is that actually listed in the player's order of preference?

Once again it's really nice being in the conversation on guys like this. But you never know what may drive a young man to want to stay in his current city to attend school. Maybe Mrs. Odunze is laying a guilt trip on her son about going so far off to college or who knows what else. Maybe the rebels strike gold and get him as a freshman instead of transferring in after 2 years like a few of the other guys they've gotten recently.

When you see this, it makes you hope Sanchez is able to get it done this year.

I think the facility is already impacting recruiting.
I agree on both points- the facility has to be making an impact and if CS gets it done this year I really see a monumental shift in this program. Lord knows all of us that have been around and supportive deserve it.

I actually believe no matter if he gets it done this year or not it’s going to be the largest positive swing in the program we’ve ever seen. Whether he shows that he can get it done- or we have a new coach that DRF would want to ‘win now’ going into new stadium.

If Sanchez succeeds this year and makes a bowl:

Great for program. You can probably extend him at reasonable salary.

If he doesn't he will have left the program in better shape than he inherited it.

I was going of the ‘warm’ interest he has for only 6 of the offers. You’re right it might not show the whole picture, but it certainly is more than I’ve ever seen and a great sign.

The "warm" is likely the result of him spending time on campus at UNLV for the 7 on 7 tournament last month.

I wouldn't consider UNLV to be "top 6" because they have been visited and I doubt they are ahead of "cool" schools on that list that have offered him (like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Mich St, etc)

Okay- that would make sense I guess. I don't know enough about the 'warm' rating and how it's applied. I thought the player and/or a close source updated it.
With that understanding I guess we are still in the running on this guy too... at least it does not say 'none' on the interest like SMU. :)

Offers from both Harvard and Yale says a lot about his academics! With the number of overall offers he has, I expect he is a pretty good football player also!
Absolutely! - I'm not sure where people on this board are in understanding of UNLV debate/law team on a national level, but it's made some HUGE impacts in a very short timeline... yes, beating Harvard

I don’t know about others but I’ve discussed that very topic almost daily since it happened.

If a kid has a chance to go to Harvard he is crazy to go anywhere else. Anything can happen to you playing football as far as injuries go. But the contacts you get at Harvard and can be worth many millions of dollars long-term. If you can go to Harvard -go.

Harvard doesn't give scholarships and instead basis the tuition on the financial status of those who apply. He could be required to pay a fairly large portion of the tuition, and that is a decision he will figure out with his family!
