Coach is already making offers!

His stats for senior year, pretty impressive:

1380 passing yds 10 TDs 68% completion

1391 rushing yds 26 TDs

40 receiving yds 2 TDs 2 receptions

62 tackles 4 INTs 1 INT TD (75 yds) 2 FCs

2 Kickoff return TDs (96, 85)

2pts: 5 rushing, 1 passing, 1 receiving

Looks like a good athlete Idaho player of the year and seems to be good in basketball as well

He has offers from Boise State, Utah State, Idaho and Montana. Three-star athlete and plays basketball. Looks like he'd be a nice possession receiver at 6"4 200

I was looking back on past Nevada Gatorado POY in NV.....it's a travesty Ed Hartwell didn't win in 95-96. He's the best player I ever played with or against. A player from that same year at Cheyenne (Devin Simon) could have been the greatest, but didn't have Eddie's drive, but to be fair, no one did.

On the sports Radio here they said Baylor Romney is looking to transfer from BYU and one of the schools he is looking at is UNLV. they were saying the reason he is looking to transfer is because he is the back up and it doesn't look like that is going to change. I think he is the same year as Oblad. I don't know how good Romney is but he was the QB when BYU beat BSU because their first string was injured.

Haha. Was the same year as both and played with both. Devin was a beast especially on the freshman team (for 2 games or so before going to varsity). Ed actually was our QB during our JV year funny enough. Fun times. I was a freshman when DeShone Myles was a senior. He played for Reno then played 2 or 3 years in the NFL.

Yeah, now I need to know who you are. I was a year after both, and you apparently. My freshman year Corey Grant was tearing it up. Never saw DeShone play football, only basketball as he graduated when I was in middle school.

We played against Myles my senior year and I think he was a sophomore the first year Cheyenne opened up, he looked like a freak of nature as a sophomore.

Yeah, my sister was a senior at Western that year and I was in 7th grade. That was Booker Washington, Tootie Green and a freshman Fowler Western team.

Since I was going to be going to Cheyenne she took me to see them play Cheyenne. Even as a bunch of youngsters without any seniors they held up pretty well against Western. I remember Myles looking like a grown ass man Bo Jackson prototype. No one knew he was only a Sophomore. I’m pretty sure he’s a Metro cop now.

I see Prince every now and again, one of his childhood friends lives across the street from me and he visits. He’s a cool dude, a little warped, a little out there. Has some good stories.

That 96 defense Cheyenne had was down right nasty. Fell one game short.

went to middle school with prince. Back then 9th grade was still middle school. He could already dunk. Freak athlete. Saw him “fight” another kid once. Didn’t last long and the other kid never landed a punch. Haha

That was my senior year. Had stopped playing by then. Was a 5’10, 175lb OL so I had stopped to concentrate on grades. Was a good choice, especially with all the head injury stuff that came to light after. I know I had at least 1 concussion and played through it...96 team was very good. Just couldn’t get anything going offensively in the title game though

just saw this. Most of my friends were from Honors/AP classes, football team and LDS Seminary. If you were similar, it’s quite possible we know each other.

Besides the bonding that’s going on...

Put me in the corner of those that don’t like him coaching Oregon in their bowl. The biggest reason I’ve come up with for him doing so is Uncle Phil. You HAVE to keep a power broker like him on your good side. You ask Phil permission to stay or go. I get that.

As far as we are concerned, I think that move hamstrings a first-time first-year young coach. Whether or not he can do this or that isn’t the point. He’s not fully focusing and thinking about UNLV. His energy (as he’s broadcasting on Twitter) isn’t going to making next season better. This may be a precursor of what’s to come. I’ll say that I’m hoping I’m totally wrong about this but I called it that Armani would never be a QB after his freshman campaign and he proved me right.

I'm just not a fan of leaving 11 guys in purgatory wondering if they have a scholarship or not. If you think about it from the recruit standpoint. Early Signing Day is over and your teammates signed their letters of intent and you were still waiting to hear from the new coach. I'm sure panic is starting to set in. Hopefully he'll reach out to each one of them after the Rose Bowl.

It doesn't seem as though there is an understanding of the task ahead. Unlike Oregon, UNLV isn't in a position to sell itself without a 100% all hands on deck effort.

This should have been known upfront? At UNLV he will always be behind the "eight" ball when it comes to recruiting and if he tries to use conventional methods like he is at Oregon he will have an uphill battle to get what is left and the leftovers aren't going to improve things around here.
