I like Beard by far...because UNLV needs brave decisions. Stop conservative choices.
The need to take risky decisions is a fact --> No Guts, no glory.
We're not a powerhouse no more since Middle Ages, so we have to shake the tree, can't wait with conservative movements and wait year after year to failure again and again.

I think Chris Beard is the Tony Sanchez of UNLV Basketball. I think he has the most potential to turn this program around fast. The more I read about him, the more I like him.
My excitement level as this miserable, bungled coaching search winds down is somewhat tempered.
I didnt vote for him, but my guess is we end up with the guy with one year of D1 head coaching experience. At least it was a really good year. In the Sun Belt league.

Maybe the Lavin crowd and the Bennett crowd can unite on Twitter under a DumpBeard hashtag. Blow up the convention. Too bad the small hands guy is already out of the race.

I love that he was the Associate HC under Bobby Knight for 7 years @Texas Tech This team would learn to shoot Free throws that's for sure. Also read a story that he broke his hand during half time of the Sun Belt Championship game. He was trying to fire up the team and "a dry erase board took a bad shot". He said " there was a chair there and i thought, briefly, about maybe using the chair but Coach Knight told me never to do that". I like that kind of passion.

And by the way, most of those Texas Tech teams were awful. Like their coach.

He never claimed to be, I tagged him meaning he learned some good coaching tips from Bobby Knight. Just shows he not as inexperienced as you think. Reality is Augmon is not gonna be the next HC, I love him, but he's not. maybe he will be promoted to Beard's Asst. HC and Ryan Miller will be kept on to recruit.
