Chase Jeter leaving Duke

Well, they did say "close to home" and NOT "home".
It just like saying i live right down the street! Could mean anything! Very objective , but i do not think he will go to UNLV.! I think his family now knows he "NEEDS" a education first.

Early rumors are he is heading to Reno. I don't care where he goes as long it is not Reno. With his Dad playing for UNLV I think Rebel fans will not take to kindly to him going up north,he would not be well liked here in Vegas.

Maybe the Jeters don't take kindly to the dad's teammate (CDR) being blown up by the current UNLV administration or the dad's teammate (Augmon) being unceremoniously passed up to be the Interim Coach?

I believe the exact quote was I'm a UNLV guy. Doesn't sound like he's holding a grudge. Now whether that means he's coming or not your guess is as good as mine. Don't know how much input Dad has on the matter. Would love to get him and see what he can do when healthy which was part of the problem this year.

Not seeing this anywhere else - where'd you hear this? It's potentially exciting if it's true

Nice - I wonder though, how many centers do we need?? Dembele, Diong, possibly Jeter, Possibly McCoy, Georgie? Can't have an entire team of 6'11 guys

Who is this Jeffery Wadilove person? Fake news spreader maybe?? He has tweeted a few things that sound made up without any basis. Just saying.

I agree. I take any stuff from the Inside the Rebels people worth a grain of salt. He was the one that reported Anthony Smith was kicked off his JC team & didn't bother to even call the school to verify. Put enough stuff out there, some of it's bound to be true. :)

I'll vouch for him. He's got media credentials but chooses to sit off media row so he can still cheer HIS school.

We all miss once in a while. Would you rather hear his optimistic opinion or a certain reporter from a local paper who loves talking about our doom and gloom?

agreed. Most here don't like Ed, I guess I want to believe most the stuff Jeffrey tweets or prints. Just bothered that he didn't take the time to double check the info on the Smith story. Pretty serious stuff & could have damaged this player's reputation & the relationship with UNLV. He apologized but a simple call to confirm could have avoided the whole situation. I still follow him because he is right most of the time.

I actually felt new found respect for Wadilove because of his public apology to Anthony Smith over his mistaken article about "troubles" at his JC.

Too many of today's journalists, seeking some front page story, put out mis-information, and never bother to print retractions or apologies, when they turn out to be false.

Everyone makes mistakes. Good people correct them.

Go Rebels!

Does the recent recruiting craziness change our outlook for Jeter? ESPN reported that he is looking at West Coast schools but nothing more.

I just hope UNLV football wins enough to make a bowl game so that we can show recruits that not only will we have the best facilities, we will also be going to bowl games. No PAC12 or Big12 unless the football program shows up big time, also wouldn't hurt if the basketball program also starts making the tournament again.

I might be the crazy guy ranting about the end of the world, but with the pending demise of cable packages and satellite (e.g. ESPN fallout), I think there are going to be HUGE shake up in conference realignment and payout. I wouldn't even speculate what that might look like in 4 or 5 years.
