It’s actually a really good idea. Unless you get a couple injuries. But chopping down at least a couple of schollies … not a bad idea. Who can even name 10-11-12-13 on a squad?

10-13 aren’t getting any NIL. 1-2 may be walk-ons. What’s the downside to carrying a few extra players?

I think at Kentucky he did have guys deeper than 8 that were getting NIL and were highly rated coming in and then to his point would bolt after a year. He no longer wanted to invest in the 9-11 types of scholarship players. In the article he mentions having more practice players and then run with the rotation guys that will get regular minutes. I assume every year he’ll put a few walk ons on a ride as a reward to them too.
