Brumfield

He’s good but he doesn’t have that dynamic. Size and look, very similar. But Randall could really run, make things happen and though it wasn’t the most accurate of arms, he had an absolute cannon.
He's a sophomore, Joe. He can learn....

That pizzaz is there, though...The last game, though...that UNT defense is tough and nasty. How many "Unnecessary roughness" could the refs call on UNT team? That was a tough team.

Doug has some warts, though he is getting better.

Still has difficulty throwing crossing routes in the middle of the field. Most, not all, of those drops were not the best thrown balls.

His pocket presence made huge leaps from game 2 to 3.

Obviously he is struggling on when to slide and how to protect himself. Though that seems to be improving too.

But the O line has been playing well, which was thought to be the biggest quwstion mark on that side of the ball. As Doug improves further, I think this offense can get even better

Because of their nastiness is why I think Brum took it to them. Any reporter reading this care to ask him?

Pleasantly surprised by his development. I know everyone was expecting Bailey to be the guy (myself, and Brumfield included), but he has shown that he was the right guy to lead this team. Hope he keeps it up and stays healthy.

We gotta remember how young he is. I still think his pocket/field presence is subpar …. though he really hasn’t forced any passes … but learning when to dump it OB, when to dump it to a back, where the field markers actually are … it’s weak right now but it will improve. It’s really the only weakness I’ve seen of him.

But we will have (should have) a nice grouping at skills positions for a few seasons, barring the stupid portal.

Unfortunately "the stupid portal" will be something we battle when someone like brumfield emerges for us

Randall was more quick twitch. Doug is more like Armani. Long stride, takes him a sec to get going, but once he does....

Sometimes the best option is hitting the Gatorade cooler on the sidelines.

And then we need “luck” from the portal … they aren’t always going to pan out.

But that’s one of the sad thoughts … show improvement, make a name … the roster and staff becomes more unstable because of the portal and coach poach.

If Doug gets adequate protection, he really could be a monster. And there are a lot of schools with better lines.

Agree. I think brumfield would be an outstanding p5 quarterback. Maybe nobody saw yesterday's game because it wasn't on TV 🤣

Man I hope not!

Don't want to lose him obviously..

But guys getting poached 'up' from G5 to P5 has a trickle down effect as well.

3-4-5 star dudes at P5s who haven't seen a lot of playing time are transferring to G5s...

Pretty much going to be the landscape going forward

Just have to hope what you bring in is equal to or better than what you lose.

Brum is getting national attention. Let's break his legs?!
