Kansas st will be the one to beat i think, thats his alma matter! Tcu has the power 5 money but i think were definitely a better program those two schools!
K-State has yet to part ways with their own coach, but he (Underwood) will certainly get a power 5 job. I have seen things linking Dixon to TCU, so that may not be an option any longer.
I am thinking along the lines of Randy Bennett (best case), Dan Majerle, Marvin Menzies and Lavin.

to be honest I don't think they have anyone set yet. They are still trying to get a high profile coach interested but can't. They have had to reach out to Lin Kruger and Jay Wright for consolations just to ask how they should sell the UNLV job. We're going to get stuck with a retread just watch.
Underwood will most likely go to Oklahoma State (I don't think K State will be firing their coach this year). Dixon could very well end up at TCU (alma mater). Unlv can't outbid either of those schools. And then we will end up with some subpar coach like lavin.
More worthless conjecture. You have no idea how much cash UNLV can come up with, booster input is obviously dependent on the potential hire.
It's not that I don't think they could produce the money they need I just think they can't get anyone interested because we're in a mediocre conference and like Underwood, Miller etc.. they will just wait for a big 5 job. That leaves UNLV having to select a questionable coach or an assistant coach. Right now our best bet would be to somehow convince Dixon to come because I really don't think anyone else of substance is even the slight bit interested. That's sad. I hope that I am wrong but it's the feeling I get. So we might end up with a Lavin. That's because I think they will feel pressured to bring in a coach that has a recognizable name. What a mess.
I dont agree. Plenty of very good coaches in non-P5 conferences: Few and Fisher come to mind immediately. I think our downfall might be the immediate expectations and pressure to win that might turn someone off.
i anticipate the hiring of another Lon Kruger type coach. good, solid coach that will get us in contention to win the conference, but will fail every year. hopefully whomever it is, doesn't get canned mid-season too.
