So ESPN's answer to the rpi is their own set of metrics that they call BPI. I'm not going to go into it all but if you look up the rankings you can select BPI and it'll come up with the rankings for all teams. UNLV (78) is 2nd in the MW and one spot behind Boise (77)... nothing to write home about I know.
But what I did find interesting was...
Every game a team plays gets a BPI rating. I don't know what the highest you can get is (100 I think) but as an example... the loss to ASU rates as a 39.8 (bad) and the win against Oregon rates as a 97.8. Long story short is that we've had 5 games this season be rated over 90 and the last two against UNM and AF are among them.
Doesn't necessarily mean anything but I found it interesting.
