I have noticed over the years that the Rebels yearly success is well aligned with how may big home games we have preconference. Either good teams or “name” teams coming to the Mack automatically energizes the crowd. The more big games at home , win or lose, the better our year goes. So Coach Menzies, please... rule #1 .. schedule a bunch of good home games. The crowds won’t show for cupcakes. Schedule excitement is a key to Rebel success.

The problem is that if the team is getting rocked for big games, fans won't show up when they expect to get dominated. Then two or three of those types of games in, you start having (for example) Texas Tech fans saying "we'll destroy these guys and get a big Vegas trip! Let's go!" and it becomes a quiet, timid, and small Rebel fan show with loud, raucous opposing fans.

I see what you're saying, but I'd rather the team actually grow and develop and ya know.. get good. If the team is good, though, and you can get Pac 12, Big 12, Big Ten, etc teams here... do it!

What I’m saying is : when we do have a big game, usually we pick up our game. It’s the conference big games that we lay eggs.
