UNLV 99th in the country in basketball budget for 2014. 4th in MWC. 34th among non P5 teams. Behind EVERY P5 team. Behind Fordham, Bradley, Rice, Richmond. Just barely over one HALF of SDSU budget. The numbers are stunning and tell the story that our community and Admin need to step up the support to come even close to matching our expectations of Top 25 teams, sweet 16s and conference championships. And still I think we will get it done this year and win the conference and return to the NCAA where we all believe we belong. Still we were the only program in the top 50 last year in recruiting that was outside the tv deal leagues (P5 plus American and Big East)
Some of you will call this excuses. But it is just facts. Why these facts are so little known is weird to me. We have a great staff who has increased the value of our brand dramatically with talents. They will get this done. Fans, community, and admin also have to do our part. Programs aren't just about coaches and players. That is a fantasy.
