I understand that he moved from Indiana to Arizona due to his dad getting a job at Arizona St. which may have hurt is recruiting changeing schools in the middle of his HS career, but I am still concerned that he was mostly being recruited by lower division programs. I do hope he opens up and has a great season to show why the coaching staff has recruited him.

He looks like a solid athlete. His QB production is suspect. It wouldn't surprise me if he changes positions, or perhaps the staff thinks they can mold him into the next Johnny Football.

His numbers dipped last year but wonder if that was a case of supporting cast changes. Will be interesting to see what he does this season and judge more from there.

With Decker gone after this year, that would leave Palandech JR, Thomson SO and Sneed RS Fr. on the roster for '16. I think we will see a 2nd QB in this class along with Smith.

I was not overly impressed with is film at first, but the more I watched there were some things that I started to really like. He has a pretty strong arm. There were a number of throws he made throwing on the run or across his body where the ball had a ton of of zip on it.

I agree his production and numbers weren't overly impressive, but he looks to be a good athlete. He seemed to have decent speed as well. Without knowing how dedicated his team was to running the ball its really hard to say if his numbers were good bad or somewhere in the middle. If he played on a team that ran the ball a ton then maybe his 1600 yards is actually pretty good.

I find it interesting we went with another AZ QB.

He did have a quite a few offers already so maybe there is more to this kid than we see. His 40 time is listed at 4.8 but he looks to play a little faster than that. Will be interesting to monitor his production next year.

He posted some really impressive numbers his sophomore year, but did take a step back his junior year.

He did have several offers, but I believe they were all lower division teams. My concern with the highlight film is that they showed several passes that were intercepted which tells me they had limited game film to use for his highlights.

Since this next season will be his first playing in Arizona, hopefully we get a good feel for how he really is as a QB.

It should also be noted that the coaching staff will watch all of these players during the upcoming season, and if they do not live up to expectations, it is likely they would remove the offer. Far more offers go out then positions available.

Eastern Washington went 11-3 last year and one of those losses they dropped 52 points on a very very very good Washington defense on the road. Their QB from last year has transferred to Oregon. None of that is relevant to this kid, but Eastern Washington is a pretty solid football school right now.

Eastern Michigan was in fact terrible last year. Montana has been a solid DII program for a long time.

Again I wasn't blown away with his tape. Equal parts good and bad. But he already has 4 offers (now 5) so somebody sees something in this kid. It may be predicated on how good he was his sophomore year. He did move between his sophomore and junior years so maybe playing for a new team/school affected his play.
