19.579 - This isn't bad considering the UNLV school year hasn't even began, so very few students would be at this game. I would guess that they would have had 2K-4K more at the game if it was a week later. Find a way to beat Cal and they could have a nice crowd at the next home game. The nice thing about the UNLV Cal game is they play Notre Dame the next week which could have them looking forward to that game and less driven against UNLV!

I believe they use sold tickets, not turnstile counts.
Our section, and the two by us, are sold out. Probably 40% of the seats were empty.

How much is it to park at the actual Stadium parking lots for game day?

For $150 you get assigned a lot for entire season. So breaks down to like $25ish per game if you do entire season.

Not sure for single game. I want to say $30?

There's a bar called The Tailgater up Russell, about 5-7 minute walk to stadium you can park at. Owner was cool about us parking there as long as we grabbed a beer before the game...

This year got our tailgate group back together. Bought 6 spots and park together in the J-Lot.

Thanks, sounds good. Definitely much better than the original $100 a game because of DRF's negotiations.

I figured as much, I was looking to possibly going to either the Mean Green or "F"Reno game.

I hate to put this much on the third game of the season, but I believe the North Texas game is the swing game of the year.

Win it, you have New Mexico, Hawaii and Reno all possible wins or games the Rebs will either be favored or slight underdogs. You would only need to steal 1 more to get bowl eligible.

Lose it...

It would be tough sledding to get to six..

Bingo.

I certainly don’t expect a win at Cal. Chalking that one up as an L. But … and these seem to happen every several years … if we win that one …

Tailgating this year, Bull?

Anyway, let's talk about Cal. What are our chances? UNLV will be the dogs for sure. Our DC knows Cal's system pretty well, right? I think we got a realistic chance here/

Win at Cal would be huge.

Start year 2-0 with your next game at home against a team that, at the very least you should be competitive.

Would be a huge boost to momentum. Guys start to believe they can win, they play more loose, and free vs tight and over analyzing everything which slows you down.

I'm still sticking by my earlier prediction of 4-8 or 5-7 with 3 or 4 really close losses. I have some concerns with the O-Line and the defense...

I like Austin Ajike. I think he will be our best defensive player this year. But not sure his improved play will offset the loss of Jacoby and Scott. That would require multiple guys taking big steps forward...

You going to the Cal game?

Last time you went to the Bay Area some boxer named Manny Pacquiao got knocked out in the 6th round.

might be a good luck charm.

I thought the first string O line, eventually started to loiok the part. They had a rough start creating holes, and they never were great, but Pass pro was significantly better. Brumfield had several clean pockets.

Granted it was aginst an undersized really bad team. But our second stringers got bum rushed in pass pro in the second half. They felt like last year all over again.

Hard to say how the first stringers will fair against better talent. But they are the weak link of the offense, mostly by default since the skill positions seem to be very strong this year. Unfortunately the O line has be be good enough otherwise for anything to work.

Cal isn't exactly a great team. Fresno State, BSU, SDSU, Air Force, and Utah State are all ranked in front of California. If you think California will beat UNLV, then I don't see a chance of UNLV getting to a bowl game this season! California lost to unr last season and had a 5-7 record including a loss to Arizona who only won one game last year, and that was over California.

Yeah, I'm with you. I think it's a winnable game for sure. Not saying we will win, but unless they got some good transfers in, or have a ton of returning talent, then there's no reason that we shouldn't at least be in the game with a chance to win at the end.

I don't think they're great, they're near the bottom of their conference. I think UNLV should battle. And even though Doug was decent last season before injury and good so far this year - that's how many games under his belt? Going on the road to a major conference ... alot of inexperience on our team (I realize that's usually the case). Not saying we can't or won't, but it would be more of a surprise to me than not.

Anyone else read that they lost their best defensive lineman to injury?

I feel hopeful for a win against Cal, though I am not very confident. Good benchmark gaime.

Yeah, saw that. I don't really know much about them, or if they have a lot of depth or anything else though. Either way, sucks for the kid, but good news for us.

Yeah but they were 5-7 not 2-10 like we were..

Cal is not very good overall. They were solid defensively though. It's still a P5 school. I need to see a lot more before I'm chalking up wins over any P5 school including bottom feeders, considering we were a bottom feeder G5 school..

North Texas is the swing game for me.

Beat Cal and follow it up with win over N Texas for a 3-0 start....With New Mexico Hawaii and Reno as games Rebs will either be favored or slight dogs.

Lose to Cal beat North Texas...Still in good shape but it gets a little dodgy.

Then needed to beat Fresno at home or steal one on the road at SDSU. Rebs played both teams tough last year.

Start 1-2...I can't see a path to bowl eligibility that I would think is realistic.

It’s hypocritical on my end because I always want to play a team at their best … but maybe Cal will be looking past UNLV with a slightly better team (Notre Dame) on their horizon (and a conference game after that).

A lot of fine, hippie chicks...
Dude they literally don’t shave. When I lived in northern Cal, my lesbian room mate graduated in eastern medicine from Cal.

this would have been a perfect time to go.

Some of the kindest and forgiving people that you will ever meet. I was a Vegas prick. Within a year, I changed....love the transitions...tough but love it.

Their team was depleted due to Covid when they played UofA. They still lost the game to a sorry team, but that shouldn’t be used as an example for how good/bad Cal is.

They are a lower tier P5 team. We are a lower tier G5 team. We are on the road. We deserve to be declared underdogs until proven otherwise.
