Athlon MW predictions

It isn't what people predict, it is what happens. With the possibility of several high level transfers being able to play, if the NCAA approves them for this season, they have the ability to surprise a lot of people, now the question will be if they can do enough. The minimum they need to keep Sanchez is 6-6.

9 years of giving up 30+ points per game....

9 freaking years.

Projecting a 4-8 record.

I don't think I've seen better than 5 wins in any predictions yet...
I think it’s going to be very tough ... and then we will be looking again. It’s sad when you’ve had more head coaches than winning seasons.... you know what I’m saying.

They talk about continuity being important, but I don't think that's the kind we're looking for.

Our continual failure on defense has me just stone baffled. I don't think we've had a good defense since the KT/Randy Black days. Are we just not getting the players? I thought we might be going somewhere when Belton was here, because it looked like he was not just building strength but speed, as well. And it looked like there was a good weight room culture building. But until we can figure out how to build a respectable defense (speed!), mediocrity will only be a goal.

Even those defenses were pretty marginal. A lot of bend, sometimes don't break to those teams. However, they did have scattered playmakers and the big play ability wasn’t “potential”, it reared its head in a non flukey manner and made a difference. In a way that helped you win.

You would think at least one of these DCs would have been able to schematically influence games.

Obviously you need players, but good scheme and game planning can hide some weaknesses.
