Is today's RJ article on the Athletic Department debt a subtle hint to keep Kruger? Interesting timing.

Yes but it’s not a great look to say “yeah but our hands were tied! Look at this debt!” Especially when the department put themselves in this position with the CKK extension.

Though on the other hand, this could be Harper pressing the boosters/donors.
