Anyone else pulling for Boise next week?

I hate Boise, AND the Pac. But for this season they still have MW lettering. Let them have some success. They are making the MW good money. They’re already forfeiting the $4m they got for making it and they aren’t getting reimbursed for the travel.

Not including a potential $3m performance bonus for EACH round; but they also get $4m for the quarter final, $6m for the semifinal, and $6m for making it to the finals.

I don’t want them to win at the top stage. But I do like that they’re not playing for their own money, but for our money.

100% i am.

Yes they are a traitor, yes they have become a bit of a rival.

But the are the the MW and G5 representative. Them winning pays UNLV. It also validates our season a bit more with how it played out.

So them winning 1 game which i think they have a punchers chance would be good. I cannot see them doing better than that

I wasn’t aware of all of how money is distributed from this but I’m glad we come out ahead.

PSU is really physical, Boise hasn't played anyone this physical since Oregon. ACC did not deserve 2 teams in. I hate SEC, but S Carolina and Ole Miss better then Indiana, SMU, Clemson.

PSU offense is not great, QB is avg. I favor PSU by 7

The same argument could hold in regards to the Big and Indiana. Indiana didn't look good when they played top tier teams being Ohio State and Notre Dame. The Notre Dame game was really over at the half, and the final score was a lot closer than the game. As for how BSU will do, I have no clue?

Yeah if they win it does make us look better. That said we will be ranked in the 20s which I think is a legit ranking.

I hope they win but wouldn’t go as far to say I’m rooting for them if that makes any sense. They beats twice fair & square so I can’t hold that against them. Bolting for the PAC kinda sucks but in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t make a huge difference for the future of UNLV football. Biggest drawback to BSU winning is it will give them a greater advantage in recruiting. Advantage to us is of course the $$. Tough call but I lean slightly to the win side.

They're going to get beat by 4 TDs... not just being a hater, Penn St. Just manhandled SMU and is a really good team
Jeanty won't break 100 yards. The talent difference between us and them is going to be exposed. I'm totally rooting for Boise State. From a realistic perspective. PSU has the talent to lock up every BSU player.

"... I know that BYU would support us in a move to the B12..."

How do we know this? I need to be sure before I can temper my hate.
I have seen a comment regarding their support in a couple of places, but nothing that was solid evidence that is true. It would be nice if the Big 12 had teams pushing for UNLV. I believe UNLV could also be a good move for the Big12 to get a large fan base by moving in a southwesterly direction.

Hell yes, win the whole thing!
  • It would bring in money, exposure, conversation on G5 teams…. Possibly a UNLV name drop with coverage.
  • It’s really an easy business decision to pull for them.
What your ego wants is another thing.

Can't do it.

They and the rest of the 'PAC' will view it as lending credibility to their new conference. It won't mean squat for the MWC schools. The 'PAC' will use it as fodder to sell to media partners in an attempt to strengthen their media package.

Broadcast is just as likely to bring up Boise becoming a member of the new PAC as they are discussing anything about the MWC.

I would like to see us schedule a game with ybu at Allegiant. We might get the largest attendance yet.

All 4 games this weekend, exposed the depth of College Football, outside of maybe the top 4-6 teams, and OSU is top 4, throw out the Michigan game, i wouldnt be totally surprised if they win the whole thing.

PSU has so much more talent and depth than BSU, they really have to be creative, the QB for PSU is ok passer, need to get after him, he's probably better runner against better comp.

For UNLV to really elevate the football program they need to be 2 deep on both lines with at least 2-3 guys who can play multiple positions, getting skilled players should not be issue with Mullen taking over. MWC is truly garbage league, you take BSU/UNLV, it smelled worse then Las Vegas Wash on perfect night where the wind blew into the Silver Bowl, i lived it, lol.

They finally have decided to go into the football program, and by doing so, it will help the whole athletic department, now it's time to get a basketball coach, watching them walk up the court and struggle to score 65 points is totally garbage, to the 4,100 yesterday paid attendance bless you for watching that garbage. My last game i saw was up in Brooklyn, beating Temple after getting the brakes beat off them by Stanford, so if i never go to another game, i saw them win my last game. That's how bad it is for me, i dont care anymore, have no plans to go to MWC Tourny, with LK/Rice i use to go, beating BYU was awesome in front of 18k, the Mack was so much fun, now it's going to a funeral home.

On the other hand.
Boise losing may prove to the haters that they don't belong.
Them being ranked as high was a bit of a shock. Are they setting them up to fail or giving respect?
But we are G5 for now and likely for the foreseeable future. MW vs PAC shouldnt matter right now, it's David vs Goliath. We need g5 to show up so we get the benefit of the doubt when it is our turn.
They don't need to win the while thing, just beat Penn State.

If there were 4100 paid, 2500 of them must have stayed in the restrooms because they weren't watching the game.

It will be interesting to see how they do against Penn State. Although it would be great for the Mountain West Conf. if they won, I don't think they will.

It was the first game of the year. But Oregon couldn’t stop Jeanty who rushed for 192 yards and 3 TD’s in a 37-34 narrow win for the Ducks. I don’t think PS defense is any better than UO. At best PS will attempt to contain Jeanty. But they won’t stop him. He is that good IMO.

PSU has a good defense I definitely think it is better than Oregon but that said I think Jeanty has a good game.

Boise has shown a bit more balance over the last portion of the year. I think that will be key. Of course everything is set up by Jeanty but they know how to use that to their advantage
