Another #HeyReb

I wonder if Conor Perkins, 2014 GV graduate kicker who went on mission is still expected to join team. Check his Twitter and it looks like he won't pop back up until summer.

He can hit, but Will Levi is right, his technique is suspect. His HUDL tape showed nothing of him in actual pass coverage, just run support. Not knocking the kid just my take on his film.

Hard to project him as a CB based on that film. OLB or SF seem more likely.

That probably does it for safety position in this class. Although one underclassman might still be in the mix.

We play a lot of nickel due to the offenses we face so I could see him as an extra safety in the box as Mouton might move to compete more at corner in year 2.

Damn it, I clicked that link thinking it was a recruiting site like HUDL.
Sorry, I found that and thought since he said he was UNLV bound it would be something. Here's HUDL link.

Mark Anderson return tweeted that he doesn't think they part of the 2016 recruiting class. I think they are both decent athletes and we do need a kicker and 6'6 235 lb TE isn't bad. Still hope they can on board or the staff honors commitment.

They are targeting other kickers and with 2 TE's already coming and another JUCO offer out there don't really see room for these guys.

They also moved Haynes from OL to TE so I could see him filling the blocking TE role with Holt and Price being the primary past catchers.

Don't have room on the roster for two 20 year old freshman with 5 years to play 4? Maybe the kicker, but the TE kid should be brought on to compete. UNLV needs depth as shown by this year's team. Injuries happen. Kids get warn down.

This, and you honor your offers-commitments (although Conor's last minute decision to go on mission took Hauck by surprise and left him in a bind).

Generally speaking, I'm in agreement. I know they were recruited by the other guy, but it's not a good look with the missionary community. Still, that's always gonna be a risk when you go on a mission. A lot can happen in two years.

I would love for them to honor the commitments. Does anyone know if the kids still want to be Rebels?

A 6'6" 235lbs older kid with 5 years of eligibility remaining who can run could also be experimented with on defense. Depth and physicality is needed and this kid fits the bill.

I don't read anything into listed 40 times. You go to the three main recruiting sites and not only will 40 times differ but so will listed heights and weights. 4.8 does jump out and not in a good way... Unless you are an offensive tackle in which case thats pretty good.

Coach Cormier has a pretty good track record with WRs.

He's faster than a 4.8, I run a 4.8; but he's not much faster than the 4.8. They might be thinking of giving him a try at another position.

Maybe a big physical player in the slot who might motion and help blocking in the run game. If there is one position I trust our recruiting it's WR.

That should wrap up that position. Boyd, Keys, Wimberly, Presley, Woods, Harris & Trosclair. The two being mid year guys helps with familiarity and giving the QBS more quality targets to work with.

I think Dumetz is going to play WR for us. Sam-I-Am might be able to confirm or debunk this, but one thing I noticed that Stanton does well is throw the back shoulder fade pass. Dumetz with his frame is an ideal guy for those type of passes.
