Althon has UNLV at #117

Sherry had potential but he never recovered mentally from the Central Michigan game.

It seemed like opposing defensive coordinators had figured Nick Sherry out well before the CMU game, and that game maybe was the result of an opponent having the entire off-season to study his tendencies.

The MWC opponents in the second half of Sherry's freshman year had picked him apart. He had a good early run following his debut game (57.4% completions, 282ypg, 9 TDs, 4 INTs, 127.8 rating in the next 5 games). But then the final 6 games of 2012 it got tough for Sherry: 51.0% completions, 169.3ypg, 6TDs, 10 INTs, 96.7 rating. So for the season his numbers averaged out respectable, but the trend was a downward spiral.

He definitely tailed off. Conference play, opponents familiarity with our offense etc played into it.

If nothing else the CMU game was the final nail.
