posters have pointed out this week about making sure they appreciate NCAAT appearances, wins, any success... Not taking it for granted, etc. I hit that point long ago, realizing getting there is not easy and staying in that crowd is even harder. Less than 10% of D1 teams get that and UNLV only had it for about a quarter of the school's existence.
If you've been there, you should remember it and appreciate it. And if you are at the other end, you also need to remember it - and, believe it or not, appreciate it. At least appreciate and recognize the struggle.
The phrase goes it's always darkest before the dawn. And while we are nowhere near the darkest we've been (in spite of same of the lame hyperbole spouted here), you guys just need to hang tight. There are some things I have zero confidence in, but I believe that people will be happy when the dust settles. But, there's going to be a lot of dust kicked up, a lot of emotion - extremes will be hit. I'm not saying I have the answers - in spite of any claims by anybody, there aren't any definitive answers right now. But I'm confident that the collective mindset is one instead of splintered. That there won't be shortcuts. That there's a realization that UNLV has to get it right. In the end, I don't believe you'll see a hire that comes with a ton of question marks, a hire that needs "if this happens, if that happens, then things will be good"....
Can this feeling I have change? It's UNLV, so yeah, it could change by the time I hit "create thread".
