UNLV is in the middle of the first half verse SJSU and is struggling in a back and forth games against a team that hasn't won a single conference game. The sad fact is that UNLV is playing no better than they did during the first season under coach Menzies, and definitely a step down from last season.

If we lose this game, it will be one of the worst losses EVER in the history of Rebel hoops. It's embarrassing that we can't put away a team that is 0-11 in conference play. Will the Rebels be the one win team the Spartans can beat in conference ??

The fact that UNLV is losing by 3 at the half says a lot. Losing this game should be a 100% death sentence for Menzies as coach if they lose. UNLV could be looking at high school size crowed next season if they don't pull off this win. Even if they win it doesn't change the fact that Menzies has done nothing to improve the team!

Marvin please make some adjustments at halftime. If we lose this game we may as well start playing at Cox or maybe the Mendenhall, so it looks full.

The problem is that Menzies is never ready at the start of the game, and it is always a game of catch up in the second half. Against bad team UNLV has a fighting chance, against good teams UNLV ends up losing by 15-20 because the other teams put the breaks on in the second half!

He’s a great motivator. Stop it.

UNLV is still just trading baskets and looking like it could come down to the last minute to see who will win!

The way UNLV is playing you would think SJSU is a good team, but in truth UNLV is not very good and makes bad teams look decent or even good! With the assumption UNLV ends up winning, it doesn't change the fact they look bad!

UNLV up 49-48 win 9 minutes left. I am not sure how anyone could look at this game as anything but a loss whether they win or lose based on the final score!

SJSU is excellent. Very under-rated. Pay no attention to the metrics. That they last won a game while they were pooping turkey and gravy means nothing.

UNLV showed tremendous grit and focus to pull out that game. The Spartandome was packed and loud. Anything you get a win like that in hostile territory, you take it with a smile on your face.

UNLV is peaking at the right time.

71-64 win if you want to call that a win. I wonder if the AD is going to give coach Menzies another season or if this will be his last season. Either way, this has already been a bad season. Short of winning out, Menzies in no way deserves another season.

But we are in the midst of a masterpiece “slow build”, you just need to be open minded. It is coming to fruition right before our eyes. If we can find the guts to give a four year extension, Rebel nation will be treated to something that surpasses what the Knights did in season one. You need to have faith, be patient, keep your eyes on the target, look for the good. If you really look, it’s there, clear as day.

If we played that way against Wyoming or Colorado State we lose by 10 +. Absolutely no creativity it's either hit some threes or bust.

I said in another thread that Wyoming wasn't a gimme game. After today I would be surprised if unlv beat Wyoming on the road. They aren't much better than sjsu, but unlv isn't very good. Losing by 18 to Air Force on the road exposed this team as much as any game this season. That is a game even a semi-decent team should win. USU today handled Air Force on the road with ease. UNLV got blown out and barely beat Air Force at home.

At this point I wouldn't fire Menzies during the season, but after the MW tournament, fire him 5 minutes later.

Why wait so long?

There is 5 games left in the season and this season can't be salvaged regardless who the coach is. It isn't like an interim coach is going to lead this team to the tournament. No point in paying Menzies more money not to coach than you already will have to. If they were going to do an in season coaching change it should have been in December.

Agreed Brotherman. This team looks like the team of old totally domination the opponent. Very exciting to watch. o_O

You think the SJSU domination was incredible to watch? Just wait for the Wyoming game. They’re suiting up one of their water boys.

ESPN moved this game into their prime slot.

I am glad to see the Rebels playing so well; however, there is really no point to watch the games when our apponents are so over matched....:zzz:
