We are allowed to 15. I sure as hell wouldn’t use them all. Extra money for schollies for players that won’t play, can eat into the collective … and schollie guys that get zero minutes, can be a problem. I’d probably go 12-13 and not bother with the last two.
Right now we are WAY too small. Stephan 7' , Bannarbie 6'9". and down. The top 4 teams in conference last year averaged 4 players 6'9" or over.
Agree 100 percent, also allows flexibility for Pastner in terms of recruiting. There’s no NEED at 13 players but if someone pops up that’s an absolute difference maker, then ok.
In that instance it would be less risky because the team probably won’t be a .500 team and probably would be in the hunt for a bid. When you are winning games, locker room and practices have a different vibe.
All 15 do not deserve NIL that is for sure. The last few spots should act like the previous walkon roles. Maybe be a specialist or a project, but should not expect regular minutes.
Who knows with the NCAA? Kid not getting minutes at Top 10 U and he’s unhappy? Maybe you grab a mid year transfer with one of those blanks? NCAA doesn’t allow that? All it takes is the threat of a court date, they fold. They don’t want to deal with any of this mayhem, it’s the Wild West.
Stretch Euro-4 who shot 37% from downtown in the ACC. I didn't see him play last year, but his low rebounding numbers concern me a bit for a 6'9" guy. We definitely still need a wing, but I think you have to think of him as a 3 more than a 4.
I would definitely take him, average 10ppg in the ACC impresses me more than 12 or 14 in the WAC or Southern conference. But like you said as a 3.

A lot of college students are now going the route of an online education instead of brick and mortar, and that is only going to increase! Currently roughly 1/4 of students take classes exclusively only line, with another quarter of the student taken at least one class on line. Expectation is that full time online students will increase to the point they outnumber the brick and mortar students in the next decade. Collecting a PERRS Check is pretty nice. You gotta take better care of yourself as you get older. The hikes must be pretty nice and crisp in Santa Fe this time of the year.
My mother retired around that time from her state job. She always wanted to teach psychiatric nursing. Was hoping she took a gig with UNLV and teach the the clinicals.
Rosemary Witt flunked me err I flunked myself. Bad story.
The Women’s studies chick definitely needed to retire.

That's actually a pretty deep roster. It's thought that Pastner may still be on the lookout for another big, and a true PG also. If so, we'll have 13 scholarship players. I'm guessing that the 3 Freshman will get limited time, but even still, if we do add 2 more guys, we're looking at a possible 10 man rotation.
If I remember, Josh wants to have a defensive team and I could be wrong but my hope is we have a team that extends the defense either full court or at least 3/4 court.
I think we have to have 15 scholarship players, per someone else’s post Warthog if remember right but 15 scholarship guys for all teams goes into effect.
There is still some additions and the way Josh is handling things, we can expect a few more 4 star types.
Practices should be a battle ground with the cream rising to the top and a good team come the season!

You guys can screenshot this since I know it'll be viewed as an overreaction. UNLV is making it back to March Madness next season. The person that is typing this message helped fund some of these players. Ill be back on this board next March.

If this is a young great team that can jell, NCAA tournament is even money if MWC gets two bids. We should win the league with speed and bounce at the wings, a dominant rim protector, high skilled experienced young players from the AAU circuit who are used to playing big time competition. Question is the 4 with Barnabie, Evans, Jones (listed from 6'5 to 6'8") playing tough and holding their rebounding position. Even so we should be able to out score them while we get better, bigger, and stronger as the year goes on.
SDSU had some 7 foot freshmen so they could be a huge problem. What do you think?
They brought back Magoon Guath or whatever his name is, so he is the starter. But I hope SDSU tries to do some “twin towers” type of lineup against us, we should run them off the floor! Lol

I have got jumped on for saying this all the time but it’s what I use to rant about all the time. The coaches we hired hindered this from happening around here, there are no excuses.
UNLV football and basketball should be good every year. Here’s hoping for bowl games and March madness at season’s end every season.
