2nd place predicted

Love when there aren’t built in excuses for failure, when slow build isn’t in the vocabulary. Get down to business from day one and do all you can … respect.

To me, it is wild the drop off after 1-4. I think it's a decent fall off from 3 to 4, but in my opinion CSU is so far from 3rd in conference this season, they aren't even in the conversation.

I have seen people are thag everyone in the 8-10 spots will win the conference or at minimum be in the title game. I find that laughable for all 3. Wyoming landing at 6 makes sense given everyone behind them is so abysmal. But man the middle of this conference ain't good.

There should be no reason why we cant get through conference schedule with 1 loss... The rest of the conference is trash and we need to split Fresno/Boise to make the championship game. The 5 of the bottom 6 all changed coaches and I'm not exactly sure that was an upgrade for most of them outside UNM getting Mendenhall. CSU probably gets more credit because of the Horton/Fowler combo... but still, 1 loss doesnt seem out of the realistic possibility when you look at how bad the bottom half of the conference is and the fact that we get Fresno and Boise at home along with avoiding a trip to CSU, Wyoming or Air Force.

First game of the season 6 weeks from today!! Man I haven’t anticipated a football season like this since… ever!!
I know what you mean. That Houston game will really set the tone for the season. It is a winnable game and one I think they really need to win to have the season they expect and want. I have been on a number of UNLV road trips and have always gone for the experience of it. This will be the first ever where I expect us to win.

I think a win at Houston could bring enough excitement to open up the next level for ticket sales in some games. It already looks like the Syracuse game is bringing in a big crowd from out of town and will easily sell out the lower section with wins in the games prior to Syracuse.

The bigger the crowds and the more fans that visit from other schools, the more the value in the program will be seen by the LVAC!

I went on one I expected to win but our QB decided to throw for 20 yards, 5 completions and 3 interceptions in a 7 point road loss.

I agree it can get them on a roll and really jump start ticket sales!

Arkansas State about 6 years ago. Armani’s arm was awful, though he ran well. Ark State fans weren’t happy, they didn’t expect a battle. And the snagged they W late but you could feel it coming.

I forgot about that game didn’t JT have a similar game against Arkansas? Wow AR State that must have been a small town.

It was Jonesboro. Had to fly into Memphis and drive an hour or so if I recall.

I like going to new places. I liked the town. Small, comfy, cozy, people were friendly. Nice campus and stadium. Couldn’t buy liquor in the town, county was dry. But there are so many counties, there were probably 2 or 3 within a 10 minute drive (or so it seemed). We stayed a few days, got a VRBO and chilled a lot.

I did mean the Las Vegas Convention and visitors authority (LVCVA). If UNLV gets back to a national level, I wouldn't put it beyond possibility that they could get involved or other casinos if they think it could lead to an increase in tourism through playing top level teams in Las Vegas in the future.

If they can pay the WNBA team with our tax dollars then couldn't they pay the state subsidized (with our tax dollars) University to further promote the brand?

Actually you and me both I love visiting those towns. I will never forget when I moved from Vegas to DC I drove and stopped overnight in some small town in Arkansas and I went into some diner for breakfast and everyone was excited because some actress from Petticoat Junction was there. Lol it was like wow I really am in a small town! Then I stopped in some roadside diner for catfish in Mississippi and someone apparently saw me pull up in my convertible Camaro and this family came up to me in the restaurant and asked if I played in the NFL or was an actor because of my car.

True if UNLV gets popular enough maybe they decide NIL contributions are in their best interest and it fuels success.

Easily justifiable expense from LVCVA if you ask me. Would need continued commitment to success and strong leadership on UNLV’s part. Would also need commitment for UNLV to schedule big OOC home games, to ensure visitors are coming.

In Football back to back Notre Dame and Ohio State and in basketball North Carolina and Kentucky? We may as well go all in for broke!

I thought that is always the approach? It should always be the approach.

If you mean accuracy, then yes.
