What an amazing season!
What an amazing season!
This is the wave of the future in the NIL era. More so for G5 programsYes it was. It's crazy to think about, but we'll be looking at almost an entirely new team next year. No Ricky White, Woodard, Catalon, Baldwin, Oliver, Elad, Grimes, Doyle, Burrell, HM Williams, Mani Powell, Ballungay, De Jesus, Camac, Chittenden, Shanks, St. John,
We do still have (I think) McDuffie, Jet Thomas, Correa, etc, but a lot of the guys names that we were used to hearing this season will need to be replaced.
Yeah it makes it hard to get real attached to a team as you are now rooting for laundry and not players. If we won a natty in basketball next year with an entirely new roster would it be awesome? Of course! But the same as 1990? No, not even close.Yes it was. It's crazy to think about, but we'll be looking at almost an entirely new team next year. From 87, you knew who the funny guys were, you knew who the serious guys were. We just knew their personalities, we knew that Richard Robinson loved heavy metal. We knew El Hud was a showman. You just saw personality.Yeah it makes it hard to get real attached to a team as you are now rooting for laundry and not players. I wish we could do a reverse Nil for Rebels that make it 4-5 years and contribute heavily towards its success.Guys like Ballungay and Shanks are the rare exception. 4/5 year Rebels. There should be a a plaque with the names of these guys hanging in the Fertitta complex.
Absolutely, you became more attached to players. Now other than Woodson and RW it is rare to get that same attachment because here one day gone the next. We have Thomas here two years and it is a surprise to everyone. If Moses Scurry or Dickel or AM or MB walked by I would know who they are immediately. 4 years from now if Rishwain walks by I wouldn't be able to name him if you paid me.From 87, you knew who the funny guys were, you knew who the serious guys were. It’s not that current guys or past guys aren’t good dudes, but you just don’t know it. They’re short timers. You don’t have a chance to know them. They’re here, poof, they’re gone.
I really miss that part of the game. Camaraderie is so fleeting and without much depth because it takes time to develop. Between that and atmosphere at games, that’s what I miss the most and it makes the game unrecognizable from decades ago.
I was surprised to see Boise at 8. They had them ahead of other CFP teams SMU, Indiana, Clemson and Tennessee. Shows how close we were.We came in at #23!

Got so attached to Woodard that I called him Woodson 🤣Absolutely, you became more attached to players. I didn’t know if it was a player I couldn’t remember. I still know one basketball player as WVU and Gorman versus the one guy from WVU. Sad that learning their names isn’t a priority now.Got so attached to Woodard that I called him Woodson 🤣
Lol that's ironic. It was a typo though I know his name lol.Got so attached to Woodard that I called him Woodson 🤣
