Not trying to get to far ahead of things here but looking at all the offers going out it made me think.

Next year is really stacking up to be one of UNLV's better classes. Its possible that Caldwell or Garcia or both could change their minds and commit elsewhere. But if things stand the way they are, this is a really nice start to the class.

RB-Altee Tenpenny 4 Star
OL-Jaron Caldwell 3 Star
OL-Julio Garcia 3 Star

Just to let you know, Jason Fao is also listed as a 3 star recruit on a lot of the sites. So you can add him to the above mix also.

He is rated by 24/7Sports' composite rankings as a three-star recruit. Fao is also rated as the 790th best prospect in the 2014 class, as well as the 54th best defensive tackle and the No. 72 prospect from the state of California

But I think Fao is available this upcoming season.

Yes, Fao , Nick Dehdashtian, Nathanial Oishi and now the kicker Schober will all be on the roster in the fall.

So Fao and Dehdashtian and Nathanial Oishi are all eligible this year but count towards next years class/scholarships plus Schober.

That gives us a class of...

RB-Altee Tenpenny 4 Star
OL-Jaron Caldwell 3 Star
OL-Julio Garcia 3 Star
DT-Fao 3 Star (coming out of high school)
DT-Dedashtian 2 Star
OL-Oishi-NR
K-Grant Schober-NR

I couldn't find ratings on Oishi or Schober. Oishi did have some nice tape though and is a load. Depending on graduations this year and how many scholarships open up we still should have anywhere from 12-16 left. This is a really nice start for next season. Again not to get ahead of anything, but interesting to keep tabs on how this next class is shaping up.

Yes, we have a long way to go in the recruiting year, but I don't know that I've EVER seen this at this point of the year. We are listed as second in the conference recruiting ranking:

Like I said, a long way to go, but credit to the staff for getting after it like this... with so much more potential to add...

I would have to imagine its the best start to a recruiting class UNLV has had in some time.

RB-Altee Tenpenny 4 Star
OL-Jaron Caldwell 3 Star(ranked #9 prospect in Nevada)
OL-Julio Garcia 3 Star (ranked #3 prospect in Nevada)
DT-Fao 3 Star (coming out of high school eligible to play this year)
OL-Matt Brayton 2-Star
DT-Dedashtian 2 Star (eligible to play this year)
OL-Oishi-NR
K-Grant Schober-NR

With the addition of Brayton that my be it for the offensive line. My guess here is that they will really go after the DT/DE positions next, as well as linebacker. QB will be a huge area of concern as well with Decker graduating and nobody on the roster with any snaps at the D1 level. Probably another JUCO transfer brought into the mix plus another underclassmen. They also have an offer out to the #2 ranked prospect in the state OLB Bishop Jones.

Class is shaping up nicely so far.

Fao, Dedashtian, Schober and Oishi are expected to play this fall.
Tenpenny is already enrolled as well so they are all 2015 class guys. They all fit needs so hopefully they will make a big splash.

They count vs next year's scholarships hence they count towards next year's class. Foa is listed by Rivals as class of 2016 despite being eligible this year (blue shirt rule) Altee is not listed in the 2015 class and I believe will also count vs next year's scholarship total. Nick D, may also fall into the blue shirt category as well. With the blue shirt rule you are eligible that season but count vs the next year's class. It is used for late qualifiers.Altee is eligible next season to play in my mind that makes him part of the 2016 season class. Either way even you have to admit this is a pretty strong haul for coach Sanchez and the local offers are starting to pop up.
