Why should we recruit High School players at all?
1. The best are almost taken by P6 programs.
2. We can concentrate on 4* and 3* [players who had to sit and got frustrated but have talent).
3. We get to see the players against college competition and weed out the one's we don't want.
4. Many of he high school players we get don't pan out - why should we go to the expense of recruiting high school kids?
5. Predict the talented High School kids who are likely to transfer.(sitting and get recruited over). Develop your list prior to the opening of "Portal Season" . Be the first to jump in when the player enters.
6. You only get 1 shot at the portal. If we get a H.S. kid that explodes he'll leave. If we get a transfer he can't.
Perhaps we don't go this route. But I believe there will be non P6 programs who specialize in transfers and end up very successful. There most likely will be business opportunities predicting the kids who will jump and rating them for programs to access for a fee.
