Depending on who leaves/is asked to leave we are looking at 5?/6? spots for next year.
I think CKK is looking for a "type" of team. Athletic, defense-oriented, good rebounding, extremely few turnovers, tall. ( i.e. SDSU of the desert)
We have 1 recruit in KyeRon and he seems to fit the "Type".
So, who else will CKK get?
1 PG either as a starter or a main backup.
1 Athletic defensive-minded big.
1 Athletic scoring big forward.
2 or 3 guards that can penetrate and shoot.
He needs to replace Hamilton's scoring, Hamm's defense and increase our athleticism if we are to compete with SDSU. He'll avoid plodding big men even if they are tall. And he'll avoid flashy PG's if they are at all turnover prone. I think he'll have an easier time recruiting this year because he's now a known entity, has had some success, has shown he'll allow a star to play his game and seems to be able to have a team with chemistry.
I think - even with Hamilton gone - we'll be better next year. Not quite dominating, but good enough to make it exciting in February.
