My next door neighbors (big U of L basketball supporters and Alumni, Class of '71) spend a few weeks a year at their summer home here in Vegas. They are in town this week to work on their house and my wife and I got together with them to bbq and have some drinks. We started talking hoops and I asked them if they heard anything about the Pitino to UNLV talk. They said the media in L'ville basically blew off the rumors as a joke until the press conference where they announced the ban. Once the ban was announced everyone (media and alumni) went dark about the rumors.
He then proceeded to drop some info on me that I had not heard yet. They were hearing around the program that Rick will definitely not be coaching there next season (loss of support from AD and boosters) and that there is already a big push by boosters to hire Xavier's Chris Mack. Could be a great hire for them, and a great opportunity for us!
