They didn't before? I mean I get we call them "kids" but they're also 18+ year old adults who got a free college education which at some schools is 25-30k a semester plus all their living expenses, food, and stipends... I get now they actually can capitalize on their play but that's a weird way for him to say he took it easy on them before?
Im not sure Danny Hurley ever took it easy on any of his players. He is a throw back. Red ass chap ass whatever you want to call him. There may be no better coach in CBB today than Danny Hurley. He has earned the respect of his players and recruits kids that want to win and get better and know exactly what they are getting into when they choose to go to Storrs. He has a history of being able to go in ( Wagner, URI, UConn) and turn teams around fast. No slow builds under his watch.
With that said I hope UConn gets beat by 50 tonight, or even 1 would be ok.
