Woodard to seahawks

Wow, that was quick. You're basically going through drills basic training. Just tells you how difficult it is to make it. His agent if he has one, has got to work the phones and get him another chance. A real chance.
Cut within a week shows how tough it is but also how slow he is and its more of the latter. Looked discombobulated the first couple of days. Maybe he is a product of knowing Odom's defense and there was no one better to play. Great college player. Hope Woodard catches on somewhere.

If I recall, he ran a 4.88 on his pro day. He will remain one of my favorite Rebels.

To your point, only 7.3% of high school players make it to the NCAA.
Only 1.6% of all NCAA football players make it to a camp. Its still a great achievement.

Hopefully he sees some love at the Arena level or in Canada if another team doesn't give him a shot. If not, if I recall he wants to be a dentist. Not a bad career choice at all.

Great achievement nonetheless. I do not think that his playing days are over if he chooses to keep pursuing this sport. Woodard is one of the best leaders UNLV has ever seen and was a hell of a player. He will be good at whatever he chooses to pursue.

I think theres a zero percent chance he affiliates with Vegas/UNLV moving forward. Scherer and Odom are gone.
I don't know if I can call it zero percent. He still has friends on the staff and on the roster. The fanbase has loved him, and that's a little hard to forget. With that being said, I do think he'll take another stab at football as a coach. Him and Catalon will eventually end up on Odoms or Scherer's staff.

That was my consideration. He could be a GA lots of places, but there are 3 reasonable options that come to mind for him to start his coaching career, should it come to that.

The place he started and wanted to be as a youngster (Arkansas);
The place he got to be a star under the coach who wanted him (UNLV);
The place where that same coach who wanted him is coaching at (Purdue).

Makes all the sense in the world for him to be around Purdue. I could see him being a GA there if Odom and Scherer are around a while. Then if/when they split off (Scherer goes to be a HC?) the immediate window of opportunity opens for Woodard to be a full time assistant as a non DC LB coach with either guy.

That sucks. I was hoping he would get a real legitimate chance that sounds like he really had no shot.

Maybe a practice squad guy too- good money

I am not surprised. Jackson Woodsrd is exactly the type of player that Demeco Ryan's just loves. Who knows if he sticks on the roster, but his attitude and approach to football is going to make them want to keep him around.
