Windmon transferring

I hope he goes professional..

I hope so..

A transfer, especially to a P5 school has some risk to it.

Rashad Jackson was a special teams guy and back up at Florida.

Came to UNLV and had one big year.

The reverse could happen to Jacoby. Go to a P5 and get lost in the shuffle. I don't think it will. I think he is good enough to start just about anywhere, or see significant time.

But if he sees less time, he would have to kill it at a pro day or combine, since there would be l less tape.

If it's a move because of family I totally get it.

If it's to increase his visibility to scouts...I don't know..If he's getting any kind of feedback about possibly being drafted, I think you jump in.

If he's close, not sure a move to a P5 or a different G5 school will necessarily help his stock unless he replicates what he did this year. I think he would/can, but there is some risk involved...

Man, that’s a lot to bite off. I hope he crushes it there.

I think he's athletic enough and versatile enough to see a decent amount of reps if not start.

He could play off the edge in obvious passing 3rd down situations. He showed he can hold up in the middle against the run. He can cover sideline to sideline.

Wasn't asked to do a ton in pass coverage I don't think.

Best LB UNLV has had since Beau Bell. Might even be better than Bell who I don't think could hold up in coverage where I think Jacoby can.

Jacoby is what I think Sanchez hoped McCoy could morph into..

It’s easy to be the best in a bad bunch, tough to go to a power with tons of depth and have the same impact.

I think he’s a pro. I thought the same with Javin, basically from a level of activity, speed, and athleticism standpoint - somewhere on the field, not necessarily at their preferred position.

With the transfer portal these days this will be a reoccurring theme. Lower-level D1 programs will be like JCs for P5 programs. If you have a great season here, why not transfer to a P5 and increase your exposure to go pro.

It would really depend. There's no guarantee that you'll even end up being a starter, depending on where you go. Plus, in different systems, you may or may not be as successful as where you were before. There's some risk either way. The bigger deal is probably going to be with the NIL. If you can transfer from UNLV to USC (or any other big money school) and get an NIL deal that pays you 100k, it would be awfully tough to pass up. I really don't have a good idea of what sort of money is going to be paid, but the higher it is, the more jumping around there will be. Unless somehow, the schools and groups paying the NIL money, end up making the player get tied to the school somehow.

It could go the other way too. If a player gets a big chunk of money to go to Alabama, but then gets stuck behind 2-3 stud players and doesn't get to see the field, they may jump ship to a smaller school like UNLV, especially if they get to keep the money.
