Down 1 or 2, final possession of the game who do we want with the ball? Who do we want taking the last shot? Who do you draw a play up for?
We have been in similar spots way to many times and continually come up short.
I have a hard time pointing to anybody on this roster I feel confident with in that situation.
Zimmerman? Late game free throw shooting and stuggles to convert in the paint probably rule him out. I don't know if I want the game winning shot attempt a 15 foot jumper from my 7 footer.
Carter? Is his post game good enough in that spot?
Derek Jones? Maybe draw something up to get him the ball moving towards the basket. I don't know that I want him trying to break defenders down off the dribble from 15 feet though.
Pat McCaw? Possibly, although I get the feeling Pat doesn't relish the role of being 'the guy'.
Ike? Ugh..If down three and we need to tie it with a 3 then yes. In this situation not sure he is good enough to attack the rim. Plus his FT shooting makes him a questionable option.
Cornish? Maybe, but again not great off the dribble. Similar to Ike.
Morgan? To turnover prone.
Seagears? You would hope your PG was that guy. He probably is our best guy breaking defenders down off the dribble. My concern would be does he make the right choice in that spot.
Poyser? That is a lot to put on a kid playing pretty limited minutes.
I really don't know who I would go with.
