was fired there was a lot of dissatisfaction with the way the roster was being put together. It was expressed by many that we were sick of 4 & 5 star guys that weren’t gonna stick around. We wanted players we would get to know for more than a year or two. Have an actual Senior Night for a change for someone that had been here for 4 years and not a 1 year transfer. Who was our last senior that graduated after 4 years in the program? Marshall?
Whether or not anybody around here realizes it or not we are not Duke, Kentucky, NC or Kansas. Those are the schools that get the Real 5 Star Players, ready for NBA now type of guys. Should we ever become a perennial Top 10 BB program again and join a Power 5 conference maybe we will be a desired destination for the handful of 5 legitimate 5 Stars that are available each year.
Yeah I wish we were winning more games now but I am enjoying watching this group grow. Ntwambe is a very special player & Diong is finding his nich but will continue to struggle defensively against real strong and offensively gifted centers until he puts on some more muscle. JTT is an absolute beast. I have never seen anybody his size that can move like him. If he can’t make it in BB the NFL could use him as a TE.
But with that said I think our wins and losses this season rest on Hardy’s shoulders. You can tell that he is the guy out there that can make something happen. He is making better decisions as the season goes along and fewer bad ones plus he is playing more minutes than Robo and when they are in together Hardy is playing the point which means Robo is committing fewer turnovers.
Looking ahead to the end of the season we will have a guy graduating that has been in the program for 3 years and has shown improvement each year. Clyburn would never be recruited by CMM again but he has worked hard and developed into a serviceable and sometimes really good player. It will be fun to stand and applaud him on Senior Night!
