We have a long way to go. So happy for all our fans. We needed that bad after the Pac12 shit on us.
Sluka cannot pass worth a damn still. Once he able to connect to White just once, life would be easier. Just once!
White is double teamed every fking play. We need to spread that ball around. We have to have someone open sooner or later. But, yeah, those passes need to be cleaned up. I'm not sure this late in his career he will be able to.
I think that's a bit unfair. He made some throws. He had some drops. He's not a polished passer but the kid is a winner

OMG I am so elated!! Never thought I’d see a day when the football program achieved this level of success. Lots of season left but I’m gonna really enjoy the next two weeks!!
We did steal it. We played a team that has better talent than us, plays better competition than we do.. and we were able to beat them on the road. This is why I love college football!
It was nice to play Kansas in Phoenix for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl but, it was a lot sweeter to beat them at their home even if it is their temporary field.
Man just think if Sluka knew how to pass, would have been a 3+ score win

At one point I yelled out that Sluka couldn't hit the crack of my ass at 15 yards. And, I've got a lot of ass. lol
Sluka is still our boy. Yes, if could pass a little bit UNLV would be blowout city vs KU

Both QBs set the game back a few years. UnLV coach did a better job of playing to the strengths of a QB that can’t throw. Kansas is 1-2 vs a schedule that they should be 3-0 against. They will lose several more.

Hypothetical Question: Do you think we would have been better off with Maiva as a junior leading this squad? or we ride with Sluka
I think the offense was much smoother under Maiava. It was still unpredictable, more Go Go, but still smoother with him.
But the dimension of legs has added a lot and he’s tough to bring down, Maiava went down like a stick man made of straw.
With Maiava, everyone was a threat. Not so with Sluka.
Defense has been our identity this year, not last year.
For aesthetics, I like Maiava. Even for overall effectiveness.
But there’s that huge intangible that I see with Sluka that I didn’t see with Maiava. Tough. Chin and attitude (granted, Maiava was only a freshman and Sluka is seasoned).
I’m not sure.
But Maiava stays, Hajj and Sluka aren’t here.
But IF they were both on the squad, I’d think Sluka … there were some issues between Maiava and Marion.
If I were coach, I’d go with Sluka because I value leadership and toughness above all else.
Sluka is definitely tough and is excellent running the ball. I think we would have more points with Maiva.
At the beginning of the season I thought this was the most difficult game UNLV face this season. The boys won! the rest of the season they have to win it all. I have no doubts they all do it.
I'm not going to be the one to check. I'll leave it to scrub. But I guarantee Sluka has balls that are made completely of Titanium.
This game reminded me of the 2001 Arkansas game and for a lot of the game I was thinking the outcome would be similar. Glad it turned out to be different. Not ready to declare playoffs yet. Still have Boise St, Syracuse, Oregon St, Fresno St and San Jose St, Tough to say that we will win them all. Can possibly drop one and still make it, but even 4-1 against those 5 will be tough. Need to get more efficient offensively, but the defense certainly seems legit which helps quite a bit
And yet PAC State doesn’t think UNLV is worthy of inclusion! 😂
Slums is like Mark Wade at point guard. Couldn’t shoot well but man couldn’t run an offense and lead with his heart.
I agree one loss and they are almost certainly still in. Potentially two depending on how other games play out but with that schedule and our offense unless if improves that still will be tough.
I agree. He is a winner. He really need to work on his timing with the receivers.
