Arroyo and Co. need to show they can not only recruit but develop the recruits they bring in to become better on the field and also implement a scheme or two on offense and defense to put the players into winnable situation.

Both programs have pretty much blown their season within the first full month for several years now. Gotta give fans something to rally around besides a fluke to reach even mediocrity.

I believe the entire UNLV season will hinge on finding a breakout QB to turn the offense around. If Tate Matell can be that QB, I could see UNLV flirting with a winning season. If UNLV continues to struggle with the offense, that number is about right!

Don't write Arroyo off so easily. He took over a program in the 120's. He had one season if you can call it that with no practices. Then he is now starting a defense loaded with young guys. I want to see good schemes and progress. Coming from Seattle where the Huskies sucked for eight straight years in the early 2000's you have to be patient. OSU Beavers is another team which has consistently struggled. Now they are coming around. ASU and AU suck, why ? They made poor choices for head coach. UCLA is down. It takes time in football. You need around 40 to 50 soph and juniors to be developed and it takes time when the previous coach couldn't recruit at a high level.

The problem is defense in my opinion. Size and strength in the fourth quarter will be our Achilles heel. Offense will function better with more practices unless Covid Delta shuts us down again.

122 is probably over-rated. Good thing our football climbed up 8 spots in the paper polls...geshhhh we are really stretching these days for something to cheer for. Its funny AF, so glad they built that new stadium that has 60k empty seats. I would love nothing better than to support something more tangible .....like W's. Wake me up when that happens.

My post was made sarcastically. I predict one win for this season (I’m not even sure who we beat, to be honest).

I’m still a fan and watch the games (and enjoy following on here and other social media), but I know we aren’t good (yet) and likely won’t be again this season. Next year? Maybe. But I feel like we are Cubs fans (until they went on their “recent” run to win the World Series). “Next year!” after two games.
