OT: OFF TOPIC Volleyball 2025

New to our team this coming season it looks like we have:

5 - Freshman (4 from Texas , 1 from Nebraska)
3 - Transfers

I have not seen any official announcements but these names have already been added to our roster. So, to get a jump on the upcoming season and something to look forward to we can start with this.

Freshman

Thank you god for getting us two setters which we needed in the worst way.

Setters:
Kaia Thiele 5'11" from San Antonio TX
Alexa Ankerstar 5'10" from Round Rock TX (part of the Austin greater metropolitan area)

Libero: Sloan Cleveland 5'7" from Plano TX

Middle Blocker: Kaelynn Sims 6' from Dallas TX

Outside Hitter: Tia Traudt 6' from Grand Island, Nebraska

Transfers

Jada Harris 6'2" transfer from Long Beach State
Logan Lindsay 6'2" transfer from Salt Lake Community College (originally from Las Vegas)
Agata Makowska 5'10" (SETTER) transfer from Utah State - Eastern (Price UT) (Originally from Poznan, Poland)

What is strange about Simi is she signed 12-26-24 with us but, is now showing that she committed to Brown University. Then and they excluded her from our roster.

UTEP had picked up the #1 Oklahoma volleyball player for either 2024 or 2025. UTEP is going to be a great addition to the MWC Volleyball.

Maya Banks is another one that is not on our roster. I also saw a Brooklyn Williams commit to us but, does not show up on the roster. They might have changed their commitments and went elsewhere. Shame if we lost Maya as she had looked really good. She had committed in July 2023.

That would be excellent. I was excited about having her on the team but was disappointed not seeing her on the roster. I wonder what is up with that.

That UTEP girl I mentioned, Landry Braziel, was a freshman this past season. She was rated the #1 player out of Oklahoma. UTEP's coach, Ben Wallis, is killing it. They lost their conference tournament in C-USA but were good enough to get an at-large to the Tourney. We are going to be so solid in the MWC with Hawaii, UTEP, and even UC-Davis coming in. We need to get back to our winning ways to compete with those teams.

Yes, we can judge our UNLV head coach on her recruits. Most, of the players are her's now.
Saw, that our coaching staff and most of our players are watching our Professional Volleyball team play. The Vegas Thrill.
They, play in the Professional Volleyball League here in Henderson, NV and are in 1st place.
I am sure, they are learning from them and soaking up a lot of the plays and where to position themselves, footwork wise.
The coaches, should take note and use a lot of the players plays for their team.
