Thought Friel did just fine all things considered. With a full week of reps as the number 1, I think he could score enough to win. Hope Brumfield is able to go though
Need our top WRs back so we can hit some play action and keep the defense ho eat against the run.
The league appears to be pretty damn poor. The schools that are traditionally or sporadically solid to good - Boise, Fresno, SDSU … are all way down.

My enthusiasm took a beating Friday night. But I will be ready for AF game though my excitement level will be in the subdued range😐

When he transferred here, it was thought he would be the starter and now he is 3rd string?

There is no more to the story, man. We talked about this after the first game when Blum sit after the 1st half. How he looks and do with the team vs Friel. Like I've said then, this is Friel's team now. This is the result of the best player play. Friel in front of Bailey is the right call. There is no conspiracy or behind the scene stuff. IMHO

Maybe, maybe not, but it does demonstrate that it doesn’t matter where you came from and it doesn’t matter what you do in high school.
After Friel, it is Justin Maiva and after Maiva it is Ty Diefenbach time....These fellas are really good QBs and leaders. The transfers may rated higher but these fellas are leaders of men.
With the questions at QB and receiver I think it's about right.
No idea what is going on with our QB situation.
But it has been mentioned before that Bailey and Brum are different styles of QB and offenses need to be tweaked to their strengths. Friel is kind somewhere between the two of them. It makes some sense that Friel would be the emergency back up given these differences. Even if Bailey is QB2.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bailey get the nod this week if Doug is for sure out, and they have the week to prepare with that in mind.
Or not, who knows. Friel is a solid player obviously.
We also know that Arroyo likes to withhold as much info as possible, especially with QBs. So I doubt it will be clear who is starting this week until our opening drive.

I hope we can keep it in that range. UNLV does not have the discipline right now on defense. I think it will be 10-14 point game in AF's favor but wouldn't surprise to see a similar result to last week either.
Sounds like Kyle Williams is back practicing, so that's a good sign.
Bailey did start legit games again SEC opponents. And faired well.

dude..If I’m coach Arroyo, you take the L against AFA. Sit out Brumfield this week and save up all your strength and try to win at Notre Dame. Let’s get our offense a much needed break to fully recover.

Probably varying degrees of where their mindsets are at not their skills level. If that is true, Bailey is a long way from ever playing.....
One way, Scrub. Another way is to fight like hell and let it lay at the end. 7, 8 or 9 wins...6 wins is a fail to me.
You saw how hurt Brumfield looked against the Spartans. Sit him out and give him the mandatory 2 weeks to recover.

Thought Friel acquitted himself well last year. By all accounts he was in the mix all Spring and Fall with Bailey and Doug.

Agreed. I want him as our QB asap. But his health must be a fans priority (IMHO).

We haven’t beaten Air Force in Vegas since 2012. Ten days years ago. I remember that game very well. It might be the same kind of game Saturday night. We won in 2012 38-35. It’s going to be a high scoring game. We have to slow down they’re running game.
