I'm going to post something that won't be popular here. If Menzies is hired, we need to support him.
Easy! Easy! Let me explain! I'm as upset, or more, perhaps than most of you with the amateurish operation at UNLV that caused this mess. Menzies is not my first, or even 20th, choice.
But, the man himself has not done anything to UNLV that deserves the attacks I've read, several with unprintable expletives included. He did not hang around trying to angle for the job while another coach was sitting, as someone did. He didn't campaign to push out Rice, Beard, or anyone.
He's a guy who appears to be a coach who's had moderate success, worked at UNLV, and wants to move to a better job. (Although that better job thing may not be so true.) Why would we react so vociferously against him?
TKM, and the circus crew that messed this up, deserve the anger. They're the culprits. At this point, maybe Menzies deserves praise for even wanting to come here. Three players. April. TKM. Maybe his problem is really that he must be crazy.
