It is tough when nobody is even talking about basketball, but we all knew that this was going to be a tough year. Still have a chance to finish with a winning record, and a chance to do well in the conference tournament with an eye towards next year.

Otz calling Tillman likely out for the year with a knee strain sounds a bit odd to me. I am not doubting the knee strain, but the timing and language have me wondering if this is just a way for both Otz and Tillman to part ways with each other. I have no idea, just wondering as I know both parties have to be incredibly disappointed how this year has gone for Tillman. Anyone know more?

I agree. Never heard a guy out for the year after a knee strain announced soo fast. We play better without Turnover Tillman.

I have little doubt that Tillman is gone after this year. The big question is what other players will also be gone?

Attended game - currently waiting in Albuquerque airport to fly home. Those New Mexico fans are very frustrated. We could sense throughout the game that they were just waiting for things to go south. It’s so fun to have the right coach finally - haven’t had this feeling since Kruger.

I cannot see the new freshmen being that great up front. We need more than one guy who can get a board. Even though Tillman has been bad, with Blair being a senior, who can take that spot?

Really wish Otz had used one of the scholarships on a 6'6"-6'7" 225 lb JC wrecking ball(thinking a Shakur Juiston/Wendell White/Moses Scurry-type). Thought Tillman would've been like that but he really isn't a very physical player. Only thing I can say in Tillman's defense is that I didn't think much of Wendell White his junior year either and yet he turned out to be a good player for us. Barring us signing another player I hope he can come back and prove himself otherwise we have zero depth up front.

TJ has shown he will bench players, so I doubt he would need to use an excuse.
The season has three weeks to go.. Being out with a knee strain for three weeks doesn't sound impossible. (BC?)

Tillman won us the last UNM game with all the foul's he drew. He's kept us in several games because of that ability. No one on the team can draw fouls like Tillman. No One!

We did play great against UNM without him though.

So... whatevs?
