UNLV v SJSU thread

I still do not have a clue why they start games at 8 PM instead of earlier. It pushes away those who may consider going to the game with their children. They need all of the bodies they can get at the games!

UNLV 15-6 at 12:34

The refs are controlling the game with a lot of fouls. UNLV is keeping SJSU in the game by playing down to them.

UNLV 38-32 with under 1 minute first half.

Marvin Colman is again the leader for UNLV on the team with 15 point and UNLV leading 67-54. I believe Colman was a walk on for UNLV last season? He only average 1.5 points and 0.3 rebounds in the 11 games he played last season. With the right coaching he is turning into a star.

I believe coach TJ used his last scholarship for this season for Marvin Coleman. Money well spent.

UNLV 81-65 Marvin with 17 points.

UNLV better get this game under control UNLV 90-78.

They have gone cold and it looks like they are just tossing up 3's

Final 98-87 UNLV

They hustle and play aggressive, but still playing sloppy. Amazing how they can do great on free throws, out rebound the other team 2:1 shoot well above 50% and still only win by 11?

When we went up by 20 they let their foot off the gas, SJSU was raining 3s late and they showed good composure when SJSU cut it back to 10...It was nice to see considering how often they blew 15+ point leads under Rice/Menzies.

The change is noticeable in how aggressive they normally play on defense, dropped off a little in the second half, which is something that really didn't exist with Menzies. What is really exciting is the improvements with the younger players who are going to leave UNLV with a very solid core next season. the biggest question is who will stay and who will go?

Menzies won 4 conference games in his first year with a 4-14 record so the team has already surpassed that with a 5-1 start.

Menzies was 8-10 in year two and we should beat that. 11-7 in year three. Hope we can do better than that too.
