Rebels received 2 votes. UNR received 61 votes and are basically ranked 27th. Not putting much stock into it yet.

Arizona is out of the top 25 since they lost 3 straight.

Not receiving votes was Illinois who are 6-0 but haven't played anybody. Their schedule toughens up now with games against Wake Forest, Northwestern, and Maryland before they play the Rebels.

San Diego State was trounced earlier by ASU who now sits 6-0 and ranked 20th (still can't stand Bobby Hurley, emphasis on the hurl [sick]) but had a nice win over Georgia. That was Georgia's only loss of the season and they (Georgia) had a nice bounce back win over St. Mary's who was #21 last week but dropped out of the top 25 after the loss.

Wyoming is 5-1 with their only loss coming from Cincinnati.

Boise State also is at 5-1 with their lone loss coming from Iowa St.

The MWC as a whole could be doing better but are probably better off than last year at this time.

Tough road game this week at UNI for UNLV and we'll see how they do in a very hostile environment. Looking forward to the Arizona game this week also. Next week's tilt against Illinois should also be a tough one.

Overall really enjoying watching the Rebels this year. Saw some new fans at the SUU game (I knew they were new because they were asking each other "which one is Brandon McCoy?") and glad to see more people starting to attend the games.

Was surprised see the article come up on my feed:

Given where this team was last year, and 2 years prior under Rice, this team is pleasantly surprising so far. I find myself adjusting my schedule to make sure I can watch the games again. It's such a difference in vibe and feeling. My respect for Menzies keeps rising. Also great to hear him talk at the half and breaks. He did the best he could last year given the sh!t show the admin put up ousting Rice. Flying to Vegas for the Oral Roberts game, thanks Frontier Air for $40 round trip tix and MGM for 2nd row seats at a bargain price! Even though this should be an easy game, excited to go see these guys play.

The team will have to be amazing to get in the rankings and stay there.

There aren’t any real big games on the schedule to give the team a major boost.

Losing games in the conference will hurt a lot because the conference is thought to be weak, so almost any loss in a conference game will be viewed as a really bad loss.

The team will have to go almost undefeated to really impress people. We still haven’t seen this team tested enough. The next 2 weeks will tell us a lot.

I'd love to sweep the two games, but I'd be more than satisfied with a split. Lose both and I'll be fairly disappointed.

A split would be okay. Wouldn’t really make a statement though unless one of the wins is a blowout at least. But winnning both would be really difficult and it would often take a special team to do that.

2 losses is a bigger possibility than I’d like it to be.

I want the team to at least go 2-1 in these games plus the Illinois game.
