I'm going to turn up a little bit more this time.

I'm going to be even better moving on.

Not bad but was not even in the las vegas sun article on point guard tranfer recruits. Does this mean we struck out on all of those listed? I want the best for this guy but seems he may have been 6th choice. Also, hoop heigths are usually lies by 2 inches, so is this guy really only 5 8? That hurt Mccabe huge last year as he was so small that he needed huge space to get a shot off.

Please don't ever think that staff leaks info on all their recruits. Often, they do it quietly.

The kid starts and he averages probably 18 points a game AS A FRESHMAN!! Way better than Mooring! IMO.

Not saying he will be 1st team MWC next year ,but has potential to be there in 2-3 years!!

Averages 9.5 pts. Very hot/cold. Had 11 games with 5 pts or less but three with more than 25.

Oh boy, you and this crowning champs super early drivel.
Once again right on Q! His stats were better than B.Ham as a freshman. I am just saying if he improves (not all do) that he has potential to be a ALL-MWC first team atleast 2nd.

You adorn everyone the best. You did the same with Dantley because he scored so many points in Nevada.

Every coach hired, every player we sign - WE’RE BACK!

I still remember how enamored you were with Menzies’ coaching ability during the very first Fan Jam he had. You acted like you were viewing Jesus’ rising.

With any of the good and bad that’s happened to UNLV since 2000 - you’ve thought they’d all turn out great. I’d say you are batting below .200

Well below .200. It is mostly wishful thinking!! I still remember me telling u that i thought Marion would be a multiple all-star and i was right about that. As for being GREAT that is a little stretch , but i will give it to u on the point i thought they would be better than they were. A few guys rubbed me the wrong way! Like Mooring!

I remember another short-ish PG we coveted back in the day but he never came to UNLV, Prince Fowler. Don’t know if this guy will be anywhere close to what Fowler was at TCU but there’s always hope!

I see him now and again. He’s good friends with my neighbor across the street. Played at OU for a season and then transferred to TCU.

I think Tubbs got him at OU and Prince followed him to TCU when Sampson was hired at OU.

We can only hope this new commit can become a good version of Prince!

Went to JR High School with Prince, though I never spoke to him...if memory serves, didn’t he commit to UNLV after Tubbs left OU? I think he did for a bit, then backed out when Tubbs got the TCU job and went there instead.

I don’t recall that. Not saying it’s not true, I just don’t remember it that way. Summer is coming up, he will be barbecuing across the street, I’ll ask him.

That's how I remembered it.

Why didn't he turnt it up mo at his last stop?

I'm not sure I can get excited about a player that puts 100% emoji's in his Twitter bio only to find out he may not have been giving 100% before.

Unless of course he was giving 100% before but now he's ready to give 110%.

In which case I can totally get behind that. (They need to make a 110% emoji to accommodate the extra effort..But then 110% would actually just be 100% since 110% is a mathematical impossibility since 100% signifies the most effort possible to achieve.)

🙂

He came off the bench. I saw several (very few) fans overall say that their coach sucked and he should of been starting. I am sure he is looking for a coaching staff that can get the most out of him. Untapped potential!???

My post was a joke...

I'm sure he's a solid player..3* out of HS.

I just find Twitterisms and emoji usage funny...

Plus NSU deciphering the tweet made me chuckle.

I know it was a joke I and just expanding on what I thought maybe where he was coming from basically they were holding him down because of being incompetent and being in a loser program. it's hard to have pride when you're in that situation

For sure...

I wish there was a sarcasm font. People don't always catch onto it...

You're probably right though..

It’s possible that it was just speculated that he would attend UNLV or perhaps someone jumped the gun and reported it. I could also be misremembering it. Was 20-25 years ago now…

EDIT: I’m not completely senile yet! Googled ”prince Fowler unlv” and found this story. Looks like he enrolled at UNLV, but didn’t attend classes giving him the “out” to be able to go to TCU with Tubbs.

Great memory and find.

Great memory and find.
I definitely have my share of “mandela effect” memories which is why I tried to find it to begin with. Only reason I remember (or at least thought I did) was because A) I went to school with him for a year, and B) He was, at the time, a rare national recruit from Las Vegas. Being that we were only a few years removed from Tark’s era and wanting badly to get back to that level of play, I was really wanting him to choose UNLV.

Funny enough I also remember Tubbs being connected to UNLV at various times post Tark. Timing never seemed to work out, but I think he would have been a good get had it worked out. Probably would have kept us around the top 25 more consistently and kept us relevant.
