This cupcake game is just after Utah and just before UNI and Arizona. Do you think that there is a chance that the Rebs may overlook SUU?

In years past yes that seemed like a possibility. It's been a long long long time since i had the kind of confidence where our team will take care of business no problem, this year has that kind of team !!

I don't think we'll lose at least one head-scratcher game, but not this game.

Of course there is a chance the team will overlook them. Even teams in the pros do it.

Hopefully if that happens, this team is good enough to take care of business anyway. These games are easy to overlook, but still important because a loss would be a complete disaster. It helps that this is a home game.

No chance. SUU is not remotely equipped to come in here and grab a win. It’ll be over by halftime. They’re not a good team and it’s going to take a long rebuild for Simon to do anything there.

Overlook? If we’re discussing whether they’ll cover the 26-point spread. Maybe they’ll only win by 15. But I believe that we could sit McCoy, Juiston. Johnson & Mooring, and we’d still win by double-digits.

Now I hope that the players aren’t as smugly confident about this game as we are. But that’s the reserved parking area, exclusive to fans.

SUU is playing with a lot of intensity. And we aren't capitalizing on their foul trouble.

I hope they (Southern Utah) end up being better than we thought. With 5:40 left it was still way too close.

I guess if I want to look at the glass half full, the team scored 101 points so the offense is still putting up a ton of points.

If we play like that over this upcoming week, at this time next Saturday we'll be 6-2. Lucky for us, they've gone to bed on the other coast. They'll check the scores in the morning and find a 100-point game and a 19-point win. No problem. But we know what really happened...

That was a fun game with the crowd really into it. Nearly eclipsed 10,000 fans for the first time this year. Next home game against AZ might get 15-16,000. Nice to be tested and great to see the Rebels respond.

I found nothing “fun” about that game, at all. Give me 30-point blowouts, that are effectively over midway through the first half. My nerves can’t take nail-biters. And that was a game in which we never trailed.

Imagine, in this difficult upcoming week, for instance, if we actually fall behind. I’ll need drugs. Lots and lots of drugs…Oh well…

Stick to the cbd and keep your head straight homie. I didn't get to watch the game but I expected it to be a tough contest anyway, considering all of the players. Big sky might not be a great conference of talent, but it's still d1, and this southern Utah team has a little bit of vegas history. Got gifted a ticket to byu at Portland last season and saw aytes playing cheer squad for the cougars. Was a great game but no doubt, dude feels burned by vegas and is also pushing for big sky poty

As close as it was for most of the game, it was fairly obvious that UNLV was going to run away with it at the end. SUU had 2 players foul out and 3 others with 4 fouls. Too many times SUU had to resort to fouls to stop our offense and they just couldn't keep that up. And when they did pull their bigs out, like at the end of the first half, that is when we extended the lead.

I wish I could say UNLV played with the same level of effort that SUU gave us. If we could give that type of fight against Arizona then we have a great shot at winning.

If Coach Simon can get his team to give that level of intensity every game than it will be only a matter of time before SUU has a legitimate D1 team... or he gets offered a better job elsewhere.

Leaving it that close in the last few minutes left the door open for a fluke loss.

I hope the guys were more distracted because it was so soon after Thanksgiving. If we see these letdowns in conference play, it will be costly.

That was clearly the first time, in the sixth outing, where there was the remote feeling that, if we didn’t pull it together, we could actually lose this game. Fortunately for the Rebels, they were facing a greatly overmatched opponent. So a modicum of effort towards the end of the game, proved to be sufficient to make the final score look like a misleading blowout.

I say the Rebels were lucky to be facing an opponent as over-matched as SUU, but I might have mis-spoke. Let’s hope that they don’t develop a mind-set that they can coast, and turn it on whenever they choose, and still win. Not that I believe that will happen. Primarily because I believe that Marvin Menzies won’t allow it.

Southern Utah deserved to win that game. They were the aggressor. They out-hustled us at every turn. They just ran out of bodies, in the end. Let’s hope that our guys get their acts together by Wednesday, and through this week’s ordeal.

SUU deserve to win? I'll give an attaboy but nothing more...

Certainly give my hats off to SUU. In the end, we slowly wore them out and then their best players fouled out. Leaving us in the last 5 min to push the run and close out the game.

On that note. A good test for the team. They kept doing what they do, putting points up, and sealed it out in the end.

I'll stick with my assessment. They deserved to win by merit of effort. They out-hustled us. They won every 50-50 ball. They nearly out-rebounded us, despite being enormously over-matched in the lane.

So, yes, in my opinion, they deserved to win. A couple of plays in crucial spots, and the Rebels could have found themselves in a nail-biter, down the stretch, instead of the highly misleading blowout. If we exhibit the same degree of effort in this upcoming week of games, we'll be 6-2.

Their greatest shortcoming was a lack of able-bodied players. One or two more, and we'd have been in a real dog-fight. and we might have been the dog...
